Mallam Alwan Hassan, @yesmylo, the @OfficialAPCNg Presidential Campaign Spokesperson, has explained why FCT Minister Nyesom Wike can play a role in President @officialABAT’s re-election campaign, even though he is not a member of the Presidential Campaign Council.

Speaking on @ARISEtv, Hassan said there is no rule that says only members of the Presidential Campaign Council can campaign for the President.

He stressed that Wike is a key member of the administration and a major political force. He recalled that Wike defeated Rotimi Amaechi twice in Rivers State, supported the APC in 2023 and helped deliver the state.
According to Hassan, the APC expects Wike to deliver Rivers State again in 2027.

Hassan also asked why the attention is focused mainly on Wike when other governors from different political parties have openly supported President @officialABAT.

He mentioned Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo of APGA and Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke of Accord as examples.

His point was simple: if governors outside the APC can support President @officialABAT, why should Wike’s support be treated differently?

Mr Alwan questioned why the attention is being placed on Wike alone.

A simple but important point was made by Mallam Alwan Hassan, @yesmylo, @OfficialAPCNg Presidential Campaign Spokesperson, during his interview on @ARISEtv.

His position is clear: once someone accepts a public appointment under a government formed by a political party, that person becomes part of the political administration, whether they are a technocrat or a politician.

He explained that being included or left out of President @officialABAT’s Presidential Campaign Council list does not automatically determine whether a political appointee can participate in the campaign.

According to Mallam Hassan, those serving in government have a responsibility to explain to Nigerians what the administration has achieved in the last three years.

He then raised a simple question: if political appointees are not expected to campaign, does that mean the President himself, who leads both the administration and the party, should not campaign?

It is an interesting argument, and certainly a conversation worth having as the next election approaches.

What stood out most from Mallam Alwan Hassan’s (@yesmylo) @ARISEtv interview was the confidence that President @officialABAT can take his case to Nigerians on the strength of his record, not merely on campaign promises.

Hassan noted that Tinubu defeated the opposition in 2023, and this time he is approaching the election with reforms, policies, and achievements that Nigerians can assess for themselves.

His response to the claim that every Nigerian has become poorer also deserves attention. He explained that the government has maintained a register of vulnerable Nigerians for years, and a recent revalidation showed that millions of former beneficiaries had improved their economic situation and no longer needed government support.

The economic challenges are real and should not be ignored. But the evidence suggests the situation is more complex than the blanket claim that every Nigerian is worse off..
