King Kong is a damn good Friday rewatch if you need something to fire up tonight. Peter Jackson released his take on Kong in December 2005, almost immediately after completing The Lord of the Rings trilogy, which released from 2001 to 2003. It’s an achievement that I don’t think is talked about/remembered enough. I have no idea how Jackson was so prolific. I think King Kong is an excellent film & a darker take on Kong. This is definitely back when Jackson still had his fastball.

🗣“Honestly, when Ronaldinho told me about it, I was shocked. I was surprised, everything came at once.

I even asked him, ‘Are you crazy?’ Because it’s not something you expect to hear from Ronaldinho after all these years.

But he told me he had thought about it many times and that he really missed football. He was even joking that if he found his form again, maybe he could play in the next World Cup with Brazil and bring the trophy home. That’s Ronaldinho. He always dreams big.

I asked him what was motivating him, and he told me he wanted to play again because he missed the game. He also mentioned players like Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and some of the older players who are still playing at a high level.

But what really stayed with me was what he said about the new generation. He wants young players to see how we played football in our time,with freedom, creativity and joy.

He feels football has become too robotic nowadays, and I understand what he means. Football was different when we played.

For me, I’m just happy that he’s doing what makes him happy. If Ronaldinho wants to play again, I’ll always support him.”
