On this day, Andrew Lloyd Webber renamed the Gillian Lynne Theatre in honour of Gillian Lynne, making her the first non-royal woman to have a West End theatre named after her.

A fitting tribute to the choreographer who, as Andrew put it, “changed the face of British musicals”.
