There was never this narrative when Luis Suárez, Riyad Mahrez & N’Golo Kanté won PFA POTY without playing in Europe. None of them played for Manchester United.

Of course Bruno Fernandes deserved the award. His peers voted him to win it. How is that not deserving? Every single one up for grabs went to him, wonder why.

Why should the award go to the title winners? That's quite literally what the title is for. This is for the best, most outstanding player. Not just on the best team.

Is it outstanding if it's only Premier League games.. what kind of argument is that? His goals & assists won his club the 2nd most points any individual ever has.

One of the best aspects of his season was big game performances. He scored at OT vs Chelsea & an assist at OT vs City, assists in wins at Anfield & the Emirates.

People can keep trying to pick holes but he broke what was once thought an unbreakable record. You can't 'spam' that, he created 58 more chances than anyone.

The discourse is beyond disrespectful now, but at the end of the day history will remember Bruno fondly & there's not a single thing any of them can do about it.

The Glazers became Manchester United owners in 2005.

Malcolm Glazer first bought a small 2.9% stake in March 2003 for about £9 million.

Over the next two years he kept buying more shares.

In 12 May 2005 he bought the big 28.7% stake from Irish investors JP McManus and John Magnier and became majority owner.

By June 2005 the family had 98% of the club, took it off the stock market, and completed a £790 million takeover.

That debt has hung over United ever since.
Malcolm died in 2014.

His six children inherited the club.

Avram and Joel Glazer became the main faces.

They took dividends out of the club, did not invest enough in the stadium or training ground for years, and oversaw a long decline after Sir Alex Ferguson retired.

Fans have protested for two decades with “Love United Hate Glazer” banners and even formed a breakaway club, FC United of Manchester.

In late 2023 / early 2024 Sir Jim Ratcliffe (INEOS) bought a 25% stake for around £1.25 billion and was given control of football operations.

The Glazer family still own the majority and remain the main owners.
