@Shedletsky@cheekyvisuals I’ve had the idea to create a third party website where Developers can sell there games, buy games, and even gain investments. However, there seems to be a lot of legal issues that would arise due to Roblox ToS.
This is a dangerous move that will more than likely kill social roleplay games on the platform.
Creating a space for people of all ages to have fun roleplaying as a sushi chef, barista or car washer is something many devs have done successfully for years.
I've built a community of over 2 million people who have fun and socialize in my games. We have over 100 moderators who keep our game safe and enjoyable for people of all ages. Alienating an entire community is not something that has gone well for other devs in the past and is not what I intend to do to mine.
It is wrong for Roblox to class themselves as a social platform then backtrack on that when they realize they don't have the resources to handle illegal activities on the platform. Roblox's handling of accusations and overall transparency about such problems is very poor.
Roblox has fucked roleplay devs over and over with "safety" changes over the past few months. Now the devs who create positive spaces that rely on communication will more than likely lose that source of income. Seems like the nail in the coffin for social roleplay experiences.
Update. Our game Boba Cafe was unbanned and we were still forced to set our game to 13+. We will be trying to fight this decision. Let’s continue to talk about how games like “Da Hood” rated for 9+ and “Baddies” rated for 5+ haven’t been told to fix their maturity rating. #roblox
Pfft. So @Roblox seems to think that a game like Boba Cafe needs to be set to 13+. So they're going to put the game back up, but are forcing the owner to set it to 13+. A cafe game. Apparently sitting down and getting a cup of virtual coffee is a bit too extreme for kids.🤦
@RealSchlep All good. Gonna take the time to fight it off. They could make their lives easier by explaining why that is their choice in one email but I think Roblox likes to be suspenseful. 🤦♂️
Update. Roblox has messaged about my game “Boba Cafe” and says it’s not suitable for ages under 13. I’m not sure how that’s possibly because it’s literally a kids game. However, I clearly am unable to fight that as they’re not giving the choice too.
Can we talk about how a roleplay game with guns and tasers is still up and running with a maturity rating of 5+ year old? But my cafe is apparently suitable for 13+ only.
Does this look like a bathroom hangout or condo game @Roblox? I’ve received no information on my cafe game’s deletion OR my accounts ban. Yet multiple inappropriate games have remained untouched. #roblox#bobacafe
@LiedYou1@Roblox@robloxdevrel@BobaCorporation That would be great. A couple of others have also asked around with their connections to help me out. However just haven’t received any responses. Hoping maybe tomorrow. Thanks alot.
