My taxi driver tonight, Gurvinder Singh, was at the World Trade Center on the morning of 9/11.

For the next 40 days, he gave hundreds of rides to any New Yorker who needed, and refused all payment.

He showed me the letter he got from Mayor Giuliani thanking him for his service to our city.

Gurvinder emigrated from India 35 years ago and encourages all his riders to fly American flags.

He asked that I share this message on the eve of 9/11: "love all people, respect all people. God bless you all and god bless America!" 🇺🇸

3 years later and that Strickland-Adesanya fight still hits different. Heavy favorite. Title defense in Sydney. Stylebender supposed to pick him apart.Instead Strickland walked him down for 25 min, won 49-46 across the board, and left the building with the belt. One of those nights that reminds you why this sport is chaos. The last 3 years for Izzy after that loss make the result look even bigger in hindsight. Wild sport.

You spent your whole career ducking the young, hungry, explosive fighters until they aged out or got fat, then you beat a declining Canelo and immediately ran to the couch. Now every time Ryan Garcia opens his mouth you pop up like an unpaid extra in somebody else’s fight week. That’s not aura. That’s a guy who can’t stand that the spotlight moved on and the current champion isn’t kissing the ring you left behind.
