Five out of fifty-plus. That's Ademola's response rate after seventeen months applying to remote engineering roles. Graduated Aptech, March 2025. 50+ applications. 5 screenings. 2 assessments. Zero offers. This is the actual arithmetic, not the LinkedIn version.

Unpopular opinion: The 'just build projects and the world will find you' advice we keep giving young Nigerian devs needs to die. It's not getting anyone hired. It's just delaying the moment they realize the market changed.

Imagine [allegedly] going to court with 757337 lawyers and saying “we make similar revenue to Real Madrid ( with our 37 fans)

If I am Florentino Perez, I am pressing another 114 charges.

Prem Clubs have been studying serious compensation for months.

I thought he said, he doesn't post about things like this

[Fabrizio Romano @FabrizioRomano]

🚨 Official: Manchester City Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak statement.

“I have been part of this Club for 18 years. I have had the privilege to stand with you in the Etihad, at Wembley, and in Istanbul. This Club matters to me, and you have shown and told me – time and time again - how much Manchester City matters to you. This is why I am writing to you today”.

“Following Friday’s media reporting, many of you will have spent your evening answering questions and responding to messages from friends, family and colleagues. So have I”.

“Here’s what I said to my family: The Premier League process still has a long way to run, and our confidence and intent in proving the Club’s innocence is just as strong as when this began”.

“There are so many things that I would like to be able to share with you to help you understand why we feel so confident in our position. But the strict confidentiality of the legal process and our determination to respect it means I cannot do that at the moment. Even this letter underwent several legal checks to make sure it complies”.

“I ask you to please carefully read the statement below, which we gave on Friday, and the statement we issued in February 2023 (also below). Every word matters and holds true”.

“While some people have been quick to reach their own conclusions, and there is so much noise swirling around us, nothing has changed. We have faced challenges together before and have prevailed. There remain many who want to undermine the momentum of our Club. We will not give them that opportunity”.

“We have some exciting moments to look forward to after this international break.  We travel to Anfield in a fortnight, and then host Paris St Germain in the Champions League back at Etihad Stadium - moments that give us an opportunity to celebrate the strength of the Manchester City family”.

“Thank you, as always, for your constant support. Khaldoon Al Mubarak”.

Imagine celebrating four-in-a-row knowing 114 charges were cooking in the background the entire time. Every trophy, every parade, and every cent spent on that squad is officially fraudulent. The biggest financial scandal in football history. Delete the record books! 📉🧹

[Ogastack @OgaStack]

114 GUILTY VERDICTS. 😭🫵 To every City fan who cried 'we have irrefutable evidence' for 3 years: you cheated for a decade, robbed Arsenal, Liverpool, and United, and your whole 'dynasty' is officially in the bin. The appeal won't save you. Bring the trophies to North London! 🔴

[Ogastack @OgaStack]

Everton lost 6 points for 1 breach.
Nottingham Forest lost 4 points for 1 breach.
Man City just got found guilty on ONE HUNDRED AND FOURTEEN BREACHES. Math says a 684-point deduction minimum. Send them straight to the National League North by Monday morning or fold the league. 🤡

[Ogastack @OgaStack]

Guilty on 114 out of 115 charges. 114! That isn't an administrative error, that's a decade-long financial crime spree. Strip the titles, hand the 2023 and 2024 Premier League trophies to the rightful champions, and relegate them down the pyramid where this fake empire belongs. 🔴

🚨 Premier League clubs planning legal action following guilty verdict against Manchester City relating to financial rule breaches. Lawyers instructed & work under way for some time before #ManCity outcome; would be after any appeals process @TheAthleticFC https://t.co/cNGSwkpn9J

[Ogastack @OgaStack]

Pep Guardiola conveniently stepping down in May 2025 right before the 114 guilty verdicts dropped is the funniest thing in football history. He knew. The players knew. Now Enzo Maresca is stuck managing a squad facing expulsion from the league. Absolute cinema 🍿🍿

[David Ornstein @David_Ornstein]

🚨 EXCLUSIVE: Manchester City found guilty on virtually all charges relating to breaches of Premier League financial regulations. #MCFC expected to appeal against verdict issued by independent commission. Sanctions undecided, process ongoing @TheAthleticFC https://t.co/Muxqp4beK9

Three things a developer can actually control here: build for the constrained reality, not imaginary bandwidth. Stop relying on job boards, build direct proof of work. Everything else (power, payments, connectivity) you mitigate, you don't solve alone.

[Ogastack @OgaStack]

Genuine question for Nigerian devs applying to remote roles right now: when you're not getting responses, is it your portfolio, or is it that the market itself has narrowed to almost nobody starting out?

[Ogastack @OgaStack]

All of these just to concede more goals.

“Nigerians are complaining about the cost of petrol. I was in London, UK, last week, where I visited a filling station just to compare the fuel price difference between Nigeria and the UK. After conversion, a liter of fuel costs over ₦3,000+ over there. We are doing very well here.” — Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo
