DNP student Wendy Zhang traveled to Thailand with an inter-professional group of students and faculty on a Student Center for Global Education grant.

Students also had the opportunity to explore traditional medicine options available in Ecuador, including facilities that permit patients to receive both traditional and modern medicine as they wish.

Undergraduate @MarylandNursing students Cynthia, Yunie, and Madison traveled to Ecuador this past summer and examined the differences in the roles of nurses and healthcare options, with a particular focus on maternal child health.

All students were amazed that even they, as temporary visitors, were eligible for free healthcare. Ecuador recently amended their constitution to recognize healthcare as a human right.

Campion’s project involved, in part, analyzing adaptation of @saudecrianca’s program for implementation in West Baltimore. Dr. Yolanda Ogbolu is currently leading this implementation through a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant.
