P2P Mythbusters part 2:
MYTH: “I don’t want to call—they’re probably too busy”
FACT: Our ED Peers, like @petrosoniak, are fully dedicated to answering calls. Expect fast real-time support, back-and-forths, and even video chats. They're here to help and are awaiting your call!
Let’s bust some P2P myths!
MYTH: P2P is just for lone docs in tiny, remote EDs
FACT: ANY ED in Ontario can call — big, small, urban or rural.
As one caller noted in our latest Amazing & Awesome Rounds: It's often great for ED flow to call P2P than to pull a colleague off a case!
🚨 Calling all rural & remote ED clinicians!
Join us June 3, 12–1 PM for the inaugural Peer-to-Peer Amazing & Awesome Rounds — a review of incredible cases and the impact of our unique collaborative program!
Don't miss it!

🌟 Our goal? Raise awareness for the P2P program and build a strong network of EM providers & trainees.
📚 From virtual sims, lectures, P2P cases, mentorship & more — we’re hoping to create community & confidence in rural EM.
🚑 Stay tuned!
🧵Thinking rural EM? You're not alone.
We surveyed 108 Ontario CCFP & CCFP-EM residents — 78.4% are considering rural emergency medicine after graduation.
But, only 24% think they would be comfortable in a single-coverage ED upon graduation.
🚨 Big interest, big gap. #ruralmed
👥 What’s holding them back?
54.4% cited lack of peer support as a major barrier, and 86.4% said a direct line to experienced docs would boost their confidence.
📞 Yet, 53.6% haven’t heard of P2P, and 65.6% don’t know how to access it.
Support exists — awareness doesn’t!
📞“How can I help?”
The first thing you’ll hear from Ontario’s Peer-to-Peer ED Program—a 24/7 lifeline for rural ERs. Launched in 2022, we offer expert advice, virtual hands, and a compassionate ear—so no provider is ever alone. 🏥🧠💬 #ruralmed#OntarioHealth
