Another great poetry reading at @glitterbeancafe. Thanks to Janet for being our MC. About a dozen folks read their poems today, including 3 people reading for the first time. Thanks to all who came out! #poetry
Just printed copies of the June OHF issue today-green to match the spring/summer growth. They're at @magsstore , @BookmarkHalifax, @glitterbeancafe, and King's College Library. Library copies coming soon. Also-mark your calendars for a June 24 open mic (2pm) at the Glitter Bean!
The June issue now online - thanks Alison! Celebrate Spring, Evenings in Halifax, a Birthday, and more. Not in the mood to celebrate? Feeling behind the 8-ball? We've got that covered too. https://t.co/CBpsmdlfX8
The April issue of Open Heart Forgery is now available - thanks Alison! And while this post is not a joke, some of the poems are not without humour. https://t.co/JcN3XKN3XL

On the pharmacy’s floor
is a faded sticker which reads:
“stay safe—six feet apart”
seeing that I am looking at it
an employee tells me
that they tried to get rid of it
but it’s really stuck
so they’ve decided to live with it
and I can’t tell
if he means the sticker or the virus.
How to become a literary writer: find your people, make friends, call yourself a writer, too. Try to make money, try to be happy, Try. It's what Taco Bell would want.
I used to worry
that if I did not maintain
an adequate supply
that I might run out of masks
only to find all the sellers
completely sold out
but these days I find
that there’s no longer
a shortage of quality masks
which makes me worry
that I must be
the only one still buying them
