Christie eventually became the best-selling fiction writer of all time, with an estimated 2 billion copies of her books sold worldwide. Her works have been translated into more than 100 languages, making her one of the most widely translated authors in history. Her estate has claimed that only the Bible and Shakespeare have circulated more widely.

Her 1939 novel And Then There Were None became her best-selling book, with estimates placing worldwide sales at around 100 million copies. Meanwhile, her 1952 play The Mousetrap went on to become the longest-running theatrical production in history, cementing Christie’s influence far beyond the printed page.
