Evenings in Xi'an: visited the Muslim Quarter on Sunday 24th March; watched 'The Empress of the Great Tang' on Monday 25th March; Toured 'Datang Everbright City' and dressed in the Tang costumes on Tuesday 26th March.

On Friday 29th March (our last day in China), we travelled to the outskirts of Beijing and hiked to a secluded and incredibly beautiful section of the Great Wall!

Back to Beijing on Thursday 28th March, we visited Tiananmen and Forbidden City...

On Wednesday 27th March, we cycled on Xi'an's city wall, which is 13.8 km long!

On Tuesday 26th March, we visited the two-thousand-year-old Terracotta Warriors, an astonishing clay army that was created to accompany China’s first emperor Qin Shi Huang into the afterlife.

At the Gaoxin No 1 School, Mrs Shufang Wang, the headteacher, welcame us. Our students attended their penpals' lessons before lunch. They had music, Chinese art and Gongfu lessons in the afternoon.

In Xi'an, our students spent a day with their penpals on Sunday and visited Gaoxi No 1 School on Monday 25th March.

Saturday 23rd March - Heading to the serene gardens of the Temple of Heaven and practising traditional tai chi exercises, visiting the Temple of Heaven; enjoying traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony in the afternoon. At 7 pm heading to Xi'an by speedy train.

22nd March - Arrived at Beijing. Straightaway touring the Hutongs of Beijing, Tower of Bells. Walking around the Houhai, looking for the epitome of the old Beijing courtyards and lanes and tasting the traditional Beijing snacks...

2023 GDST Mandarin Teachers Meeting took place in Oxford High on 10th October. 15 teachers from 12 GDST schools attended. The theme of the meeting are
'Embracing Change: Facing Challenges, Facilitating Smooth Transitions and Cultivating Positive Attitudes'.

Taiji Master, Ms Hui Li, came to OHS on 29 Sep to teach Tai Chi Kung Fu Fan, which combines Tai Chi and martial arts movements, coupling hardness and softness and improving fitness with relaxation.

Mrs Gardiner Legge is attending Swire Chinese Language Day 2023 in Callerton Academy of Gosforth Group in Newcatsle Upon Tyne today. The Theme of the conference is 'Celebrating success and looking to the future'.

Today, our Year 12 Mandarin A Level class took a trip to Kingsford Community School to participate in a Mandarin A Level Intensive Day. We did variety of activities such as film analysis, roleplays and developing writing skills. In addition, we sampled dim sum, a Chinese cuisine!

The Madanrin Department took our Year 9 students to British Museum and Chinatown on 31st January. It has given the girls the opportunity to explore the history of China, and experience the culture and custom of the Chinese New Year!

Today, Year 12 Chinese Students travelled to UCL for a Conference about the interesting Chinese courses that different UK Universities have to offer. The day was insightful and filled with delicious food!

Today we took 45 Y9 and Y10 girls to British Museum and Chinatown. The girls had the chance to explore Chinese culture further, taste Chinese food and had a feel of Chinese New Year with plenty of lanterns!

Mandarin department invited Transition Band to visit us on Chinese New Year Eve.Josh and Jesse sang and made songs with our Year 7-9 girls.
The hall was filled with cheerful music, the girls' laughters and their own versions of the band's famous song " 对不起，我的中文不好”.
