THE INFLOWS OF SO-CALLED REPENTANT BOKO HARAM/TERRORISTS INTO NIGERIA MILITARY: BEWARNED! NIGERIA ARMY RECRUITMENT IS A DEATH TRAP FOR IGBO-BIAFRA YOUTHS.
Before preaching to Igbo youths about joining the Nigerian army, ask them about Obinna. Ask them about the thousands of Igbo youths in the military who were sent to Zamfara and other parts of northern Nigeria. Ask them to give an account of these Igbo youths who joined the Army: Where are they? Why don’t they want to announce their deaths?
Igbo youths are good enough to defend Nigeria with their lives but not good enough to be appointed to positions in oil companies.
You empower Boko Haram, which has destroyed the lives of innocent soldiers, and you expect people with a conscience to join your suicide mission so that the Boko Haram elements in your military will set them up and murder them like other soldiers. When you enlisted Boko Haram into the military formation, didn’t you know it would backfire?
You have made us and the world understand that what you have as Nigerian soldiers are Boko Haram terrorists who have murdered millions of innocent people.
No sane Igbo youth will want to commit suicide, because joining the Nigerian military is a clear suicide mission.
We shall keep educating our people on the grave danger of joining the Nigerian military.
Don’t forget to join Mazi Chinasa Nworu on today’s special Radio Biafra broadcast, as IPOB shall keep sensitising our people on the need to jettison the suicide mission of joining the Nigerian military.

Statement from the Okwu-Kanu Family: 18 October 2026
RE: Britain’s Duty to Its Own Citizen, Detained Under a Repealed Law
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is a British citizen, born a Biafran. He has spent a cumulative eight years in Nigerian detention after being rendered from Kenya. He was convicted under a statute Nigeria had already repealed and remains held while his appeal sits unlisted and unheard. Britain has engaged diplomatically but has secured neither his freedom, a hearing of his appeal, nor a meaningful remedy.
Historical Context: During the Biafra–Nigeria War, the Wilson government publicly spoke of peace while freely supplying arms and ammunition to the Federal Military Government. A 12 August 1969 US intelligence estimate confirmed this, noting Britain’s reluctance to support an arms embargo due to influence concerns. In the House of Commons on 17 November 1969, Hugh Fraser stated that up to 60% of Nigeria’s battle weapons came from Britain. The family sees this historical hostility reflected in Britain’s present inaction.
Five Unprecedented Violations:
1Conviction under repealed legislation without identifying any applicable extant provision of the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act 2022 that defines the offences and prescribes the penalties — contrary to s.36(12) of the Nigerian Constitution.
2Discharged and counts quashed by the Court of Appeal in October 2022, yet he remained in custody.
3Held for approximately 14 months after the discharge without a valid subsisting charge.
4Use of a civil stay of execution, obtained 14 days after the discharge, to suspend the effect of a criminal appellate decision.
5Subsequent prosecution and conviction in November 2025 on counts the Court of Appeal had already quashed, under legislation the family maintains was repealed.
Judicial Concerns: Retired Supreme Court Justice Amina Augie warned on 17 October 2026 that corruption can turn the courts into “one more market stall.” A life sentence resting on repealed law without an identified extant written provision raises fundamental questions about whether the Constitution is being obeyed.
Britain’s Response: Routine diplomatic engagement and occasional short consular welfare calls have not secured a hearing of the appeal (filed and served June 2026, still unlisted) or resolved the constitutional issues. The family questions whether the case has been referred to the Envoy for Complex Consular Detentions appointed in July 2026.
Public Demands on the British Government:
1Has Britain formally demanded that Nigeria identify the precise extant written-law provisions compliant with s.36(12) under which its citizen was convicted?
2What specific steps has it taken to secure prompt listing and hearing of the appeal?
3Has the case been referred to the Envoy for Complex Consular Detentions? If not, will it be referred urgently?
4What representations have been made concerning the continued detention after the Court of Appeal discharge?
5What concrete actions and timetable will Britain now pursue to secure a hearing and lawful resolution?
We demand action, not engagement. We demand answers, not consular visits. We demand that Britain prove, through concrete action, that its duty to its citizen does not disappear when that citizen is Biafran.
Signed, Prince Emmanuel Kanu On behalf of the Okwu-Kanu Family.
A consortium of lawyers representing the IPOB leader on Saturday questioned the legal basis upon which he was convicted.
Chidera questioned the legal basis the court relied on to convict Kanu on November 20, 2025, arguing that the judge relied on a repealed terrorism law.
He said the central question was: “Under which constitutionally cognisable law did Justice James Omotosho convict Mazi Nnamdi Kanu on November 20, 2025?”
According to him, the issue revolves around distinction between Sections 36(8) and 36(12) of the 1999 Constitution.
Chidera argued that while Section 36(8) concerns law applicable to conduct at the time an alleged offence was committed, Section 36(12) concerns written law defining the offence and prescribing its punishment at the time of conviction.
“There are two constitutional questions. They are different. They are not interchangeable,” he said.
“Section 36(8) asks: What law governed the conduct when it happened? Section 36(12) asks: What written law defines the offence and prescribes the penalty now — at the moment of conviction?”
The British criminals who SELFISHLY created Nigeria illegally also uses Nigeria government for colonization of Biafrans.

NIGERIA IS NOT INDEPENDENT — AND IT IS TIME TO END THE PRETENCE
Letters from Stockholm | By Kio Amachree
It is time for Nigerians to finally break loose from the political influence of London.
And President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the latest and most disturbing reason why.
Mr Tinubu, Nigerians are suffering under your government, yet London appears remarkably comfortable with you.
That alone should make Nigerians ask questions.
Then, on Nigeria’s so-called Independence Day, The Economist of London published an article under the extraordinary headline: “Nigerians dislike their president, but may re-elect him anyway.” Its argument was that Tinubu could survive his unpopularity through incumbency, political machinery, money, opposition division and desperately low voter participation. (People&Politics)
Read that again.
The Nigerian people can dislike their president, suffer under his government, and somehow the political machinery can still return him to Aso Rock.
That is precisely why Nigerians must stop treating October 1 as some sacred proof that colonialism ended.
WE NIGERIANS ARE NOT TRULY INDEPENDENT.
We were handed a flag, an anthem and constitutional independence in 1960.
But genuine independence means control over your political destiny, your economy, your resources, your security and your institutions.
And after sixty-six years, I believe the annual Nigerian celebration of independence must look like a joke from Whitehall.
Because what exactly are we celebrating?
Britain created the Nigerian colonial arrangement.
Nigerians did not sit around a table as equal sovereign peoples and design the country we inherited.
Britain amalgamated it.
Britain administered it.
Britain extracted wealth from it.
And Britain departed formally in 1960 while retaining enormous historical, commercial, diplomatic and strategic interests in what it had created.
Now look at President Tinubu.
In March Britain gave him the first inward State Visit by a Nigerian president in 37 years. King Charles hosted him at Windsor Castle. Royal salutes were fired. The British establishment rolled out the ceremonial red carpet. (The Royal Family)
Then came the business.
Downing Street announced deeper cooperation with Tinubu’s government covering trade, infrastructure, security, migration and the redevelopment of Nigerian ports. (https://t.co/EJ7qd6DGup)
The relationship extends even further.
Britain and Nigeria now cooperate on counterterrorism, defence capability, cyber threats, intelligence and information exchange, Special Operations Forces, maritime security, fraud and illicit finance. Britain’s own communiqué says the two governments are developing a formalised intelligence-sharing mechanism. (https://t.co/EJ7qd6DGup)
Britain has even secured a new arrangement making it easier to return Nigerian visa overstayers, failed asylum seekers and foreign offenders to Nigeria. (https://t.co/EJ7qd6DGup)
So I ask you directly, President Tinubu:
WHAT EXACTLY IS THIS RELATIONSHIP WITH LONDON?
And more importantly:
WHO BENEFITS MOST FROM IT?
Do not distract Nigerians with royal carriages, handshakes and photographs at Windsor.
Publish the agreements.
Publish the obligations.
Explain the intelligence arrangements.
Explain the defence relationship.
Explain what Britain receives.
Explain what Nigeria receives.
Because after sixty-six years of supposed independence, Nigerians have every right to know precisely how much influence their former colonial ruler exercises inside their country.
Britain is entitled to pursue British interests.
My complaint is that Nigerian governments have repeatedly failed to pursue Nigerian interests with the same ruthlessness.
And that exploitation has taken many forms across our history: colonial extraction first, followed after independence by profoundly unequal relationships involving capital, natural resources, finance, security and political influence.
Nigeria has supplied enormous wealth to the outside world while millions of Nigerians remain poor.
Something is fundamentally wrong with that arrangement.
And if, sixty-six years after independence, this arrangement still cannot deliver genuine sovereignty and prosperity to Nigerians, then Nigerians have every right to question the arrangement itself.
We did not create colonial Nigeria.
We inherited it.
That does not mean we must preserve it forever.
A country is not sacred merely because British colonial administrators drew its boundaries and handed the resulting state to another generation.
Nigeria must work for Nigerians.
If this federation cannot be transformed into a genuinely sovereign political arrangement freely accepted by its peoples, then Nigerians must have the courage to discuss what comes next.
No subject should be forbidden.
Restructuring.
Federalism.
Devolution.
Resource control.
Constitutional reconstruction.
And ultimately the fundamental question upon which every legitimate state rests:
Do the people themselves consent to the political arrangement under which they are governed?
That is independence.
Not October 1 speeches.
Not military parades.
Not politicians waving green-and-white flags.
Not Nigerian presidents travelling to London to receive royal approval.
SOVEREIGNTY.
President Tinubu, your magnificent reception at Windsor does not give you sovereignty over Nigerians.
The Economist cannot give it to you.
Whitehall cannot give it to you.
Downing Street cannot give it to you.
King Charles cannot give it to you.
Only Nigerians can.
And Nigerians should finally understand something that Britain has understood for centuries:
NATIONS EXIST TO DEFEND THEIR OWN INTERESTS.
Britain defends Britain’s interests.
Nigeria must start defending Nigeria’s.
Otherwise stop calling October 1 Independence Day.
Because independence without genuine sovereignty is merely a ceremony.
Sixty-six years is enough.
Either Nigeria finally becomes genuinely independent — politically, economically, institutionally and psychologically — or Nigerians must have the courage to reconsider an arrangement they had no part in creating.
