@an_abass What is the performance of previous investments made by the state government i.e fertilizer plant, flour mill etc? What returns have these investments given the state and how has it helped augment revenue coming from the FAAC?

@an_abass There's nothing wrong in a state govt investing in another state. States need to diversify their revenue base beyond the allocations from the FAAC. The fundamental questions we should be asking are: what is the ownership structure of the current government investments?

They are entitled to that decision but don't make it seem as if migrants are a swarm of locusts eating up your resources leaving citizens impoverished. I have a problem with that narrative hence my argument that migrants are not there for free. We pay for what we get

Migration is complex subject and looking at the impact without looking at the benefits is a one-sided view

I use a private health insurance and the value of what I am insured against is 1000% more than what I am paying for. Is that subsidy?

@mabosigomolamu @joezif @taadelodun I left the UK with my family after my son arrived. If we were to do the post-study for my wife to stay back we were required to pay. It was not free, even for my child who was born there. We paid for whatever services we got. It wasn't and never is free.

@joezif @taadelodun @mabosigomolamu Health care insurance is a game of numbers and most of those who pay the annual subscription don't use it. I paid IHS 4 my family when my wife was there. Guess how many of us visited the hospital in one year? One, my pregnant wife. How many of those people utilise the IHS paid?
