@_Jojomomo@RealMamaEagle Dallas goedert led the league in touchdowns before he got hurt and the o line was as injured as it’s ever been with can jurgens literally being a bottom 5 rated center through the entirety of the league. Do you watch games or just repeat what you read from troll twitter weirdos
You’re throwing out facts, but stripping all the context that actually explains why those numbers exist.
Jalen Hurts didn’t have a great statistical year by his own 2022 standards. No one serious disputes that. But none of what you listed proves he’s a bad QB.
Let’s walk through it.
Sub-200 passing yards in 10 games:
That happens when your team is run-heavy by design and winning. If you’re up two scores in the second half, you stop throwing. That’s not a QB failing, that’s game management.
Rams divisional game:
Yes, he threw for 128 yards.
He also won a playoff game by doing exactly what was required. That’s football, not fantasy stats. Plenty of great QBs have low-yardage playoff wins when the matchup dictates it.
Tush push TDs:
Short-yardage TDs still count. Those plays require timing, strength, ball security, and decision-making. Also worth noting: defenses know it’s coming and still can’t stop it. That’s a feature, not a crutch.
Not top-10 in volume categories:
Again, volume stats depend on offensive philosophy. Philly chose ball control, defense, and run game. You don’t accidentally end up near the bottom of passing volume. That’s intentional.
2022 rankings:
Funny thing is 2022 is still one of the best QB seasons in Eagles history. He finished 2nd in MVP voting and dominated the postseason. Pretending that season wasn’t elite because of cherry-picked categories is revisionist.
Offensive DVOA lower than defense:
That says more about how good the defense has been than how bad the offense was. Philly has consistently had top-tier defenses under Hurts. That’s not an indictment of the QB.
Didn’t break 21 points in 11 games:
They also won a lot of those games. The goal isn’t to score 35 every week. It’s to win. The Eagles weren’t losing shootouts, they were closing games.
Here’s what your “facts” ignore:
Second-highest career passer rating in Eagles history
Highest completion percentage in Eagles history
Second-most playoff wins by an Eagles QB
Two NFC titles
A Super Bowl ring
Quarterbacks who “cant read defenses” or “can’t throw” do not accomplish that.
You can say Hurts hasn’t matched his 2022 peak yet. That’s fair.
You can say the offense was frustrating. Also fair.
But pretending he’s some Trent Dilfer-level passenger is just trolling. I watched Dilfer play. That comparison doesn’t survive five minutes of actual tape.
Stats without context aren’t analysis, they’re noise.
Calling Jalen Hurts a bad QB isn’t just wrong, it’s ahistorical.
Let’s remove all opinion and just deal in facts:
Second-highest career passer rating in Eagles history
Highest completion percentage in Eagles history
Second-most playoff wins by any Eagles QB
Two NFC titles
A Super Bowl ring
Quarterbacks who “can’t throw,” “can’t read defenses,” or are “decision-making disasters” do not get there. Ever. Not by accident. Not by being carried. Not in this city.
And the Trent Dilfer comparison is where the argument completely collapses.
I watched Trent Dilfer play too. Dilfer had a career passer rating of 72, was turnover-prone, and won because he was asked to not lose the game behind an all-time defense. Dilfer was replaced by two teams with Brad Johnson and Elvis Grbac. He was a passenger.
Hurts has:
Been the engine of the offense
Won shootouts
Won ugly
Won in January
Performed on the Super Bowl stage
Those are not Dilfer traits.
You can say Hurts hasn’t matched his 2022 peak yet. That’s fair.
You can say the offense stagnated and the coaching churn hurt him. Also fair.
But calling him “bad” or “washed” or “peaked” is just people confusing expectation frustration with player quality.
Philly fans used to know the difference because we lived through actual bad QB play. Anyone who thinks Hurts fits that description should seriously go back and watch full games from the Kotite and Rhodes years.
Criticism is fine.
Debate is fine.
But the takes out there aren’t analysis, they’re abysmal.
@dycediva@Raindropsmedia1 She said it’s their first time ever speaking since he asked for her number. Why the fuck would he offer her anything their first interaction speaking 😂
@NateGearySports@ashervoi You do realize Josh Allen has arguably the worst game in recent memory right? 9-30 in 2024 😂 you really shouldn’t be critiquing a bad game from a qb when your qb has one of the worst games maybe in history
@tear_hunter @1_2_question@DovySimuMMA Yeah it’s been two months and if he really is about to have surgery then that’s another 3-4 months minimum before he’s even able to practice and another 3-4 months before he’s able to have a full camp to fight. Looking at over a year easily before he even gets a fight booked
