Aesthetic capital is real, People might be happy to have you around initially because of looks, but they stay because of your character, your intellect, and your reliability. True 'salt of the earth' people are those whose value endures long after the initial first impression fades. Let's thank God for character, not just symmetry.
If there is an โOlodo Uprising,โ that is a demand problem, not a supply one.
When people complain about the ubiquity of something that exists precisely because of their interest in it, the complaint is not an indictment of the thing, it is a mirror held up to the complainant.
If no such uprising is actually underway, the uproar is theatre. If it is, the audience needs to look inward before looking outward.
Peller and those like him found a niche and are thriving in it. It is responsiveness to a market. The market does what it does. If the public is fascinated by them, their fascination cannot logically be their fault. You do not blame the sun for rising.
Those who are genuinely irked have options. More options, in fact, than any generation before them. There has never been a point in human history with such an avalanche of alternatives for whatever you crave, at whatever depth you want it. The algorithm will take you exactly where you point it.
In the world of Peller, a million other interests exist. It is still a free world to choose what works for you.
You asked for growth so life gave you discomfort. You asked for success so it demanded sacrifice. You cannot have one without the other. More ambition means less free time. Every choice has a cost. When the weight feels heavy remember you asked for this. That is not punishment. That is the price.
You worry more about Governors abusing state police during elections that happen once every four years. You do not worry about whether the state of insecurity under centralised policing can be such that elections are not even held in some places in the first place.
You do not worry about school children being kidnapped every day in hundreds or kidnappers collecting ransoms through bank accounts that have BVN for which you must have an NIN, and proudly posting videos on social media.
You worry about how the states would fund state police. You do not worry that the Federal Government consumes 52% of all resources, and wastes it on frivolous spending and on irrelevant and ineffective agencies, while 36 states and 774 LGAs only get 48%.
You are not Ezemmuo. You donโt know things.
Ashura is approaching.
And if I could give you one piece of advice, it would be this:
Do not waste this day asking Allah for small things. This is the day that witnessed an ocean split.
Here are some duโas to carry into this blessed day
