Cuti Romero: "What player I wanted to be when I was growing up? I grew up watching Barca for Leo and the defenders I looked up to were Puyol and Piquรฉ." @losedul
๐จ Cuti Romero: "I WOULD GIVE THE NUMBER 10 TO JULIรN รLVAREZ."
"To be honest, I would retire the number 10, put up a mural at the AFA headquarters, and leave it at that, so nobody has to carry that responsibility. But thatโs not possible, so I donโt know...
"I would give it to Juliรกn. Of course, everyone has their own opinion. I see him as someone who has that profile: humble, family-oriented, and a good guy.
"He has the qualities, all those important things needed to wear the number 10. I think he would like it. Iโve told him many times, but he wants to keep wearing his own number.โ @losedul
๐จ BREAKING: Cuti Romero says that half of the team was injured during the World Cup ๐คฏ
"We arrived at the tournament right at our LIMIT. I wouldnโt call it a miracle, but we struggled physically throughout the entire competition. Too many players came into the tournament barely fit enough to play, myself included.
"Throughout the tournament, we dealt with several injuries. Paredes had a fractured rib that nobody talks about. After the match against England, I couldnโt even train because of my tendon injury. Lisandro was in the same situation, Molina too, and Tagliafico was barely fit.
"I think Enzo was the healthiest one of us all! Even Dibu played with a broken finger.
"We gave absolutely EVERYTHING we had, right until the very last minute.โ
"In the final, all conditions were against us, one less day of rest, playing at 2PM in intense heat. Obviously it was the same for both teams, I'm not making excuses. I think Spain played a great match, deserved to be champions, and that's it." @losedul
๐จ BREAKING: Cuti Romero says he played the World Cup final with painkilling injections and couple of pills due to Achilles tendon injury he suffered against England.
"WE WENT INTO THE TOURNAMENT BARELY FIT ENOUGH. I donโt know if Iโd call it a MIRACLE, but we struggled physically throughout the entire tournament.
"We had too many players who were barely fit enough to play, myself included. Those things [controversy theories] donโt make me angry. Iโm at peace with myself because I gave everything until the very last minute.
"After the match against England, I developed an Achilles tendon problem that I still have to this day. I was barely able to train on any of the days leading up to the final.
"I went into the match barely fit enough to play. I played the way I did after taking a couple of pills and receiving painkilling injections. My body just couldnโt take any more in the second half.
"Itโs already frustrating enough to go into a match as important as a World Cup final when youโre not fully fit. It makes you angry, but you always want to be out there.
"Despite everything, I felt capable of playing, and I wanted to be there.โ @losedul
@Utd_Trentvd@Levels_to_IT10 The graphic with Ronaldo on 16 Guinness records and Messi on 7 is inaccurate. Official Guinness World Records confirmed Messi at 41 titles to Ronaldoโs 40 back in 2023. Both keep adding more, but that particular chart does not match the verified totals.
