Yesterday in Meru County, alongside Governor Hon. Rev. Mutuma M'Ethingia, we launched a Community Resource Centre, a Community Bus, supported CBOs with cash grants, and provided low-interest loans to young entrepreneurs to boost their businesses.

The centre hosts a variety of our programs, including a community hall, a school library, a computer lab, and women empowerment programs.

At @hope2shine , we believe lasting change happens when people, especially youth, are given opportunity and the tools to succeed.

@SafaricomPLC the new SuperApp feels like it was designed for an ideal user, not a real one. Here is the list of assumptions you have made:

A user who is always on Safaricom data.
Always on the same device.
Always within network comfort.
Always ready to re-verify identity on demand.
Always patient enough to navigate extra steps just to complete a basic transaction.

That user does not exist. What a normal(At least from where I stand user) is:

Real customers move.
We switch networks.
We rely on Wi-Fi. - Think of people who travel out of the country and need to keep things moving locally. Right now, they can't transact, because, we need SIM verification and they are not necessarily on roaming
We transact in a hurry.
We operate in environments where speed and reliability matter more than perfect theoretical security flows. Think of us in a supermarket, Matatu, Downtown Nairobi , yes?

Right now, the experience is doing the opposite of what M-PESA built its reputation on.

Simple actions are becoming layered.

Access is becoming conditional.

Trust is being replaced with repeated verification.

Convenience is being traded for control.

Security is necessary. No one is disputing that.But when security begins to interrupt basic usability, it stops feeling like protection and starts feeling like friction.

The standard M-PESA(from what I know or have experienced) set was clear:
fast, reliable, works anywhere, minimal steps.

That standard is alien- existent at the moment.
This is not a rejection of the direction. It is a call to correct the execution.

Because if the product assumes perfect conditions, it will fail real-world usage.

This morning I attended 47th ADM of @apstarDTsacco where a new Strategic Plan was also launched. The SACCO’s assets have grown to kshs.15.6B while members deposits stand at kshs. 11.1B. The board has proposed interest on deposits at 8% while dividends will be a 10% as the Sacco adopts a retention strategy to build up its capital base.

Someone asked why @SABINACHEGE sponsored a bill designed to kill Agriculture in Kenya and why there are suddenly so many bills and laws to destroy our food production.

Well, the answer is that America has lost a substantial Agriculture produce market in China of approximately 34 Billion USD in 2024 alone, thanks to the BRICS alliance.

Consequently all that produce from USA has to go somewhere. Given @WilliamsRuto incompetence, his love of pleasing the White Man, the promise of a few loans and some pocket change, he is ready and willing to destroy Kenyans Agriculture production and flood our market with produce from America.

Capitalism at it's worst, it's just business. Farmers prepare for the worst, the next few years with Ruto will be catastrophic.
