Kursk operation was a big mistake from Oleksandr Syrskyi, back then commander of the Ukrainian 🇺🇦 army

The operation was conceived as a raid into Russia 🇷🇺 intended to force a Russian redeployment from the east, while capturing prisoners and destroying part of the "Sever/North" force that was attacking Kharkiv.

For a week, Syrskyi disappeared to take direct command of operations, even as the situation in Pokrovsk was becoming catastrophic. The first week of the operation was a success, despite the low number of strikes. Russian resistance in depth proved stronger than anticipated. At that point, the Ukrainians should have withdrawn.

The Ukrainian presence in Kursk lasted nearly eight months, resulting in too many avoidable losses; meanwhile, Russian forces were entering several strategic towns along the Avdiivka–Pokrovsk axis, Novohrodivka, Selydove, and Ukrainsk, which fell without facing significant Ukrainian resistance.

People are having a hard time understanding what's the difference between a fiber optic FPV drone and a Fixed Wings long range drone.

The Fiber Optic FPV is directly controled by an operator, it cannot be jammed, it is entirely clear the human salary in Kherson (civilians getting killed and injured everyday by FPV drones) is directly orchestrated by Russia to terrorize and kill civilians.

On the other hand, a Fixed Wings UAV, especially long range ones, are not often operator controled and can be jammed. The tragic beach killing in Russia doesn't seem to be a direct attack, there is air-defense working + jammers and the drone appears to be falling.

There is no way you can compare a deliberate attack on a civilian 10 km from the frontline to an accidental event 400 km from the frontline. Moreover, these events appear daily on both sides, with both FP-1/Lyuty and Geran drones ending on appartment building, because they were jammed, downed or simply didn't take into account some buildings in their flight path.

Fact! I’ve never studied a war or battle where one country not participating in the conflict had the ability to save thousands of civilians (easily letting the international community create a displaced person camp just on the other side of the Egypt Gaza crossing at Rafah) and not only didn’t, but deployed military forces to the border and built a new wall to make sure not a single civilian escaped (unless the civilian paid about $10,000 - an estimated 100,00 civilians got out if they paid). The fact that the UN, UNSC, and even U.S. did not put major pressure on Egypt to do so is also a story not told.

These strikes on air-defense, coupled with the previous campaign in southern Ukraine and Crimea are opening gaps for long-range strikes against the Russian economy/refineries in the southern part of the country.

If the US were to allow Ukraine to use Starlink over Russia, numerous air-defense systems, radars, and Iskander missiles would be threatened by operator-controlled Ukrainian FP-1/2 drones, mainly in border regions.

A few days ago, Russian 🇷🇺 FAB air-guided bombs fell on the city of Pavlohrad, in the Dnipropetrovsk oblast.

This city is more than 80 km from the frontline and more than 150 km from the launching point, which gives a very long range to these bombs.

How did they manage to hit that far? I believe this is the new UMPB-5R kit that allows the bomb to fly up to 150 km or more. This is a real game changer if rear bases, command posts, and stabilization points can be easily targeted, as well as large cities.

I happened to see FABs falling on Zaporijjia two weeks ago, and this is a very destructive and scary weapon that really is a massive help for Russia. Ukraine still didn't find any means to counter these strikes.

The reason remains the same: the abrupt halt of military reform and the dismissal of Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, who had built strong working relationships with Elon Musk and the American side. Much of the public frustration is now directed at the Office of the President of Ukraine.

The anger is also fueled by the approaching winter, ongoing problems with mobilization, and growing concerns about Ukraine's relationship with the United States and other partners.

By dismissing Fedorov, Kyiv cut off one of its strongest sources of military innovation - an area that had made Ukraine particularly attractive to both American and European partners.
