S1 English participated in some outdoor learning yesterday. They took inspiration from Dalzell Estate to help them use their senses to create setting in their imaginative writing. #outdoorlearning

Just a reminder that the Higher English immersion day will begin slightly later tomorrow due to the National 5 exam starting at 9am. Please make your way to your normal classroom and we will begin as soon as possible. Full uniform, please, and remember the dinner hall isn't open!

S1 pupils entered the land of stories today during a visit with storyteller Michael Kerins as part of our
@scottishbktrust Live Literature events. Pupils entered the storytelling world via the storytelling tunnel and were captivated by Michael's tales.

S1 had a fantastic time with author @JulieKe18305493 today, listening to the use of Scots in her novel, 'Ma Mum & William Wordsworth', and learning to write in Scots themselves. Julie joined us at @OLHSMotherwell as part of @scottishbktrust's @BookWeekScot programme of events.

Fantastic Día de los Muertos celebrations in the Language Faculty today. S1 created skull masks, made sugar skulls out of giant marshmallows, took part in a quiz and took part in some Mariachi singing! #DiaDeLosMuertos @OLHSMotherwell
