When it says that GCSE grades are down (or up), it is virtually meaningless. It just means that examiners sat in a room and moved the bell curve. I love it when journalists report this up-down malarkey like it means something.

It's been said before but the notion that Marxists are averse to power is nonsense. The victory of one "left" does nothing to bring the working class to power unless they're willing to break with reformism, rely on class struggle tactics and defend an independent workers' program

Bizarre that people continue to debate religious "Marxism". Religion is among the purest forms of idealism. Marxism is essentially materialist. Attempts to "combine" the two are at best confused, the two stand at antipodes on very fundamental questions.
