‼️ We are recruiting South Western Ambulance Service paramedics for a paediatric research study ‼️
Could you help in evaluating the acceptability of a new pre-hospital paediatric specific clinical decision tool to support paramedics in their management of head-injured children?

@Chris_Riggers @Tom_A_Clarke Also, so much more user friendly for anyone else reading the paperwork who isn't familiar with ePCR.
Can be copy/pasted much more easily too - emailing GP etc.
Sod the tick-boxes.
@donotcallmemike @ClipboardUK @georgebellstarr@houghtonc79@OcoRory@NWAmbulance@richard_mcgirr The governance limits here - the process is to electronically prescribe via Adastra. If that can't be found or doesn't happen, they can't get the Rx.
This is where PGDs can trump Rx, though the governance requires pt's GP to be informed. Tourists / people who are homeless... 🤷♂️
You've probably heard that Bicarbonate has to turn into CO2 to raise the pH. “Don’t give bicarb if you can’t increase ventilation.”
But how much CO2 is there in an amp of sodium bicarbonate?
A bicarb 🧵

Strange tweet from me. I am looking for a UK based (sorry but that’s to do with pay and conditions) paramedic researcher to help write grant proposals from January - end of July 2023 on a part time basis up to 15 hours per week on a casual contract . If interested please DM me.🙏🏼
Here's a trial that should change your practice if you treat patients in cardiac arrest.
In a cluster-randomised trial from 🇨🇦, double sequential defibrillation was associated with a 16% ⬆️ chance of SR, 20% ⬆️ chance of ROSC and 17% ⬆️ of surviving to hospital discharge.

@fletcher5555 Hey Dave!
Worth speaking to @KarinaCatley about the outstanding work performed around EOLC and empowering prehopsital colleagues to recognise palliative patients - then instigate the conversation / share decisions with GP / pt / family etc.
@rob963m@Ldn_Ambulance@ChrisAmbulance Thanks Rob.
It's excellent to showcase innovation - but leaves a sour taste to see a new vehicle being glorified, whilst off-the-road time is a huge, ever-increasing, issue. Look at the APP-UC VOR data for mechanical issues.
When will this vehicle be put into frontline use?
