Today Iāve been at Britainās oldest business - Aberdeen Harbour, which has been going since 1136. Itās nearly 900 years old!
It's survived the Vikings and two World Warsā¦but now itās facing Starmer and Milibandās bonkers energy policies.
Let's get Britain drilling now!
A terrible idea. President Trump is completely wrong to announce tariffs on the UK over Greenland. People in both UK and US will face higher costs.
These tariffs will be yet another burden for businesses across our country. The sovereignty of Greenland should only be decided by the people of Greenland.
On this, I agree with Keir Starmer.
Thanks to all those who campaigned with us to scrap the Family Farm Tax.
Labour might have a big majority, but this just shows if we keep fighting we can make Starmer change course. And we will keep going!
To everyone who took to the streets, who wrote to their MP, or who joined in the protests - thank you.
This is a significant step forward and will protect many more family farms and family businesses from crippling tax bills that targeted generations of British farming and industry.
This has only happened because we stood up and refused to be ignored.
However, letās not forget that for over a year, our farmers have had huge anxiety and uncertainty hanging over their heads due to this policy, despite the entire sector warning Labour that their plan was wrong.
This has had real-life effects already - creating chaos, fear and real damage to confidence in the industry.
And whilst this change is welcome, the fight is far from over.
Because alongside the family farm tax, weāve seen:
ā¢ā ā delinked payments slashed
ā¢ā ā SFI and capital grants paused
ā¢ā ā employersā NI hiked
ā¢ā ā minimum wage increases without support
ā¢ā ā the double-cab pickup tax
ā¢ā ā fertiliser tax
ā¢ā ā and so much moreā¦
All of this has hammered farm cashflows and pushed too many businesses to breaking point.
Farmers still face a mountain of challenges created by this government, and I will keep fighting until the entire policy is scrapped - and until British farmers get the respect and stability they deserve.
We have committed to scrap the Family Farm Tax and the Family Business Tax if we are back in government - and thatās exactly what we will do.
Getting so many messages from farmers! This is their victory.
They work long hours, take real risks, and pass something on to the next generation.
They donāt want favours, just fairness. An extra special thanks to the strong @Conservatives team @VictoriaAtkins & @_RobbieMoore who made sure their voices were heard!
I spent too much of my time as Chancellor and PM firefighting (Covid, Ukraine, the mini-Budget).
This weekās Budget didnāt face those shocks, yet it still ducked the big choices. It felt like a survival Budget.

OBR has leaked the budget just before Reeves is set to announce it.
From a glance itās a budget of tax, borrow and spend, while making life worse for working people.
Thatās Labourās Britain for you.
It is an honour to stand at the Cenotaph to commemorate the courage and sacrifice of all who served in defence of the peace and freedoms we cherish today.
