But I think saying “Male characters don’t sell in gacha games” is wrong and fabricated.

Let me explain my reasoning.

Male characters release few and far between 99% of the time so people who mostly pull/save for those characters have PLENTY of time to earn enough currency to pull the character without topping up. I’m almost certain that if male characters were released just as frequently as female ones they would absolutely “sell” more. There has been countless times that I’ve been able to pull my anticipated male character in MANY gacha games without topping up due to saving multiple patches.

At the end of the day, I know Gacha games are mostly marketed to a certain demographic (straight men) but THAT demographic isn’t the only one that would spend on gachas, I mean look at Love and Deepspace.

Also just because a character doesn’t make 100000000 billion dollars doesn’t mean they don’t make money.
