She is still fresh from training and may want to unleash all she was taught, until she is guided to be discerning

@SirJarus Code of Conduct is a BoD document, but it is limited in scope such that it is mostly a cautionary document for good conduct, integrity, and ethical standards. It is an high level document that dictates moral stance. Employees' Handbook is what talks about personal relationship.

@sobur_bello @HabuSadeik Policies can be board, conduct or operational. Board and conduct policies are the ones ratified by the BoD. Operational policies are signed off by Mgt. In this case, Employees' Handbook are signed off by HR, for staff and within Mgt's reference. TOE is not a staff of UBA.

@sobur_bello @HabuSadeik Maybe not. TOE is not bound by that policy. He is a Non-ED in UBA and he was free to correct her. As GTs, they do not know the difference between staffers and non-executive board members. They should be well put through it. Meanwhile, discernment is critical even for staffers.

I appreciate that TOE corrected her. She needs to know the difference, and learn to be discerning in events/meetings. Not every rule is meant to be followed rigidly. In this case, the guidance is to respect her elders and reflect that in her conduct as well.

Almost all Banks trained their staff to call their colleagues, including the ExCo, on a first name basis. And it is normally contained in the Staff Handbook as well. I am sure UBA is not an exception. What the lady didn't know is that TOE is a Non-ED and is not bound by that rule

A solid example here, I have been confirmed diabetic type 2 since 1999 when I collapsed at my first ever placement in school of Nursing. Many food were luxury then, I used to walk hours to hawk for the person I was doing Omo Odo for at Asofiyan in Mushin then, by every logic in the book, there's no way I should be a candidate at all but here I am ,almost 30 years later living fully with it. First cancer scare for me was in 2005, again nothing to make someone like me a candidate at all, again born with eye defect so officially registered blind in one eye, I use 6 eye drops applied 13 times a day for glaucoma and pterygium. Everyone who knows me will tell you I have been an advocate for healthy living almost all my life hence I always laugh when people talk with Authority. I pray for mercy a lot, a whole lot because not a lot is within our control. Medically I shouldn't have a child but Alhamdulillah I have 3 though born in difficult circumstances so I am one of those who despite medical trainings believe its not entirely up to us at all. May God have absolute mercy on us all ultimately

That's even the Emir's Palace, and we know the level of respect our people accord him. That ABS sat on the chair while others chose to be on the rug doesn't mean he told them to do so. It was a personal choice because of where they were.

This is not good for the optics and it says a lot about the personality and leadership style of Sen. Buko Saraki.
