The new Oxford Handbook of Clinical Medicine (11th Ed) officially recognizes Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh. 🇳🇬
She is the hero who stood her ground against Ebola to save a nation of 200 million.
Seeing her name in these pages is a win for every Nigerian health worker.
@grok@vanderjoo@renoomokri@grok Thank you for this clarification.
Is it also true that the attack on the Mid Western and Western Regions brought in the soldiers from these regions into the war to DEFEND their region?
@grok@vanderjoo@renoomokri@grok Please fact-check this also
"When the Nigerian Civil War broke out on Thursday, 6 July 1967, it was billed as a "Police Action" by the Federal Military Government, and it did not involve Western or Midwestern troops. That is why the first attack occurred from the North".
@grok@vanderjoo@renoomokri@grok how could it be that the federal troops invaded these regions first if they were being defended by Biafra? You have already said earlier that Biafra was on the defense.
So did Biafran soldiers invade these regions first or not?
@vanderjoo@grok@renoomokri@grok the question he's trying to ask is summary is:
Who (Federal troops or Biafrans) first evaded the Midwest, Bonny and Calabar? and what dates?
Dear @officialABAT Mr. President, Commander-in-Chief,
Your words ring loud: “We will decisively defeat terrorism… Security is non-negotiable… We will leave no stone unturned.”
We hear you.
But words are not bullets.
They cannot stop the next bomb in Maiduguri, the next bandit raid in Zamfara, Katsina, or the next kidnapping on the Abuja–Kaduna road.
For two decades, we’ve been told victory is near. Yet:
Over 40,000 Nigerians have died from terrorism since 2009.
Over 2 million remain displaced.
Bandits now collect taxes in villages where your government cannot collect revenue.
You speak of “unwavering courage” and “the rule of law.”
We ask:
Where is the courage to prosecute corrupt generals who divert security funds?
Where is the rule of law when politicians sponsor thugs and walk free?
Where is the stone left unturned when governors negotiate with terrorists, pay them billions, and still demand medals?
You say, “Nigeria is one united family.”
Then why do we bury our children in the North while politicians feast in Abuja?
Why do we ration fuel and light while your convoy runs on subsidized diesel?
Why do we queue for PVCs while you queue for private jets?
Good governance is not a slogan. It is action:
Sack any minister, appointee, or service chief who fails to secure even one local government in 90 days.
Publish every kobo spent on security, down to the last bullet.
End impunity: try, convict, and jail one powerful man for corruption. Just one. Let the rest tremble.
You salute our soldiers.
So do we.
But they fight with outdated rifles while their commanders buy mansions in Dubai.
They die on empty stomachs while ghost soldiers draw salaries.
Mr. President,
We are not asking for speeches.
We are demanding accountability.
Name and shame the sponsors of terror and terrorism either political, traditional, or religious individuals.
Freeze their accounts. Seize their passports.
Try them in public.
Until then, your promise of “decisive victory” remains just another press release.
We will stand with you, but only if you stand with us.
Not with rhetoric but with results.
No more excuses. No more delays.
No more blood.
The clock is ticking.
History is watching.
And the graves are filling.
The latest threat by U.S. President Donald Trump @POTUS to launch military action in Nigeria, allegedly to protect Christians, may sound appealing to some. Still, history has shown this to be perilous.
Whether you are Christian, Muslim, animist, or non-religious, no one should celebrate such rhetoric. The United States and its allies have a long record of military interventions that leave nations more unstable than before. They failed to secure peace in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, or Syria, and they won’t bring salvation to Nigeria through bombs or boots on the ground.
What Nigeria truly needs is not a foreign savior, but legitimate, accountable leadership, one that protects all citizens, upholds justice, and ends the cycles of corruption and violence that have left the nation broken.
@realDonaldTrump does not care about Nigerians not Christians, Muslims, or anyone else. Our deliverance will never come from abroad; it must come from within, through real leadership (not the Tinubus of this world) and national renewal. #RevolutionNow

@NudgeTM@Omojuwa You forget that the 1.7M is not the end of his expenses. After the marriage the guy will still continue to service the "liability". Unless of course he married an asset.

🧬Today, 10 years ago, @acegid confirmed the first Ebola case in Nigeria, within 6 hours of receiving the sample.
Following this, ACEGID started working with @NCDCgov and other public health authorities to trace/find individuals who had made contact with the index case.
