Our Year 6 students were able to have a discussion with ur Prime Minister, Scott Morrison and local member Lucy Wicks. This was part of our 2 x day virtual Canberra excursion. It was so exciting to engage with our PM over some issues and ask questions.
We had over 190 households tune-in for our live Parent Forum last evening. Thanks those who could join us. If you missed it, a recording is on this link. https://t.co/MPZ9vyZMg6
Well done OLSS – Over 300 views (with siblings, even more watched us) live on the first day of term for our Virtual Assembly!
For those who missed it an edited version is at our assemblies page. Let's keep connected, even from afar as we learn together!
We’re busy here at school supporting both students attending, and planning for new types of ‘Home Learning’. This morning we had some great success trialling group reading instruction via ‘Zoom’…students learnt a lot, but so did we!!!
We had lots of lovely feedback from our Kinder parents who joined us Tues or Thurs this week for Open Classrooms. It was already very evident there's so much learning going on, and the children loved sharing!
We're sure those who could attend our Beginning of Year Mass will agree it was such a prayerful and beautiful occasion. Our traditional blessing of our new Kinders by Year 6, followed by leader badge presentation had a wonderful feel.
Our staff gathered together today and are all excited about the year ahead. We began with a lovely prayer. We look forward to seeing our children as they start.
It was a wonderful opportunity for the children in Years 3-6 to work with the author Deb Abela today and participated in fun, creative writing workshops with her.
