The first time my dad apologised to me, I knew something was seriously wrong.

He had accused me of wasting money because I bought something he didn’t think I needed.

I tried explaining myself, but he wouldn’t listen.

So I just kept quiet.

Later that evening, he found out he had misunderstood the whole situation.

I expected him to say, “Come here, let me explain.”

Instead, he walked into my room and said:

“I was wrong. I’m sorry.”

I froze.

My dad… APOLOGISED? 😭

I honestly didn’t know whether to accept the apology or call my siblings to witness the historic moment.

But that one sentence meant more to me than he probably realised.

Because sometimes, children don’t need perfect parents.

They just need parents who can admit when they are wrong.
