Time for the annual fall reminder post. Working on conditioning or “fitness” in addition to practice just gets athletes hurt. Daily practice is already too much stress. You can’t “run them into shape” but you can run them into injuries.
@fitsoccerqueen
Dear female athletes:
Your hamstrings are not tight.
They are WEAK.
When sport load is higher than tissue tolerance that equals injury or chronic soreness/tightness feeling.
Build your hamstring STRENGTH to handle the demands of your sport so you are more resilient to high loads from sprinting, cutting, and jumping.
You'd be shocked how many girls have come to me on day one who COULD NOT TOUCH THEIR TOES.
What did we do to solve this? NOT STRETCHING!!!🤣🤣🤣
We DEAD LIFTED. 🏋️♀️
We built the hamstrings to become bulletproof.
A few months later?
They all touched their toes with ease.
YOUR HAMSTRINGS ARE WEAK. Not tight.
BUILD STRENGTH.
I love hops. I’m also a stickler about terminology. Hops are single leg takeoffs, landing on the same leg. @19Vesey is doing medial and lateral 45 degree single leg hops. It’s important that we all speak the same language if we want to communicate effectively.
@nbcsandiego What in the actual ?&@“ how are small businesses supposed to survive. When employees can basically go work at a fast food place for close to the same wage.
Big business. Big pharma. Corporate. Keeps ruining those who actually care
We're going to need each and every one of you in full voice on Sunday when we play Chihuahua in the most important home match of the season!

Current healthcare problem #326:
Athlete goes to doctor for knee pain.
Doctor tells athlete to rest and ice for 2 weeks.
After 2 weeks, athlete still has knee pain.
And missed 4 games because of poor advice.
The rest and ice model needs to go away.
If Tua takes the field tonight, it's a massive step back for #concussion care in the NFL.
If he has a 2nd concussion that destroys his season or career, everyone involved will be sued & should lose their jobs, coaches included. We all saw it, even they must know this isn't right
