@FootballJOE There’s no such thing as “the better team lost”. There’s only one metric that matters. The team that scores the most goals is the better team.
@holland_tom@TheRestHistory When they started to close off east Berlin, how much of a surprise was it for regular Berliners? Was it “oh I can’t go down that street today, how odd” Or more “oh God, it’s finally happening”?
@holland_tom@TheRestHistory Why did no one seem to ask the French, who had something of a shocker in Vietnam a few years prior, whether this was a good idea or even what lessons the French had learned from said shocker?
@MissAHaddow On my birthday once my mum told me she “thought” the cat had died but wasn’t sure as she’d not gone near it but could I go and check down the side of the house where it currently lay. It was very dead. I reckon Victoria would have made a better fist of it.
Has anyone else’s parents finally discovered boomer memes while stuck at home? My mum has and now my phone is exploding. Thanks #coronavirus. Just when I thought you couldn’t get any worse.
@FootballCliches@Zonal_Marking@jacklang Worst goal. It was my first ever game live. United v QPR at old Trafford 30th December 1995. My *only* memory of the game is that Schmeichel booted the ball into Danny Dichio’s arse for QPR’s goal. Bearing in mind I am a united fan it’s a v odd thing to have hung onto.
Christ on a bike. So...not integrating enough=bad. Integrating too much=also bad. Hear me out guys, but I think Boris might just not like foreigners. I’m sure this used to be frowned upon. Don’t we have a word for this sort of behaviour? #GE2019
EU migrants have been able to “treat the UK as if it’s part of their own country” for too long, Boris Johnson said yesterday as he reprised the core message of Vote Leave’s 2016 EU referendum campaign. https://t.co/iGHX71S63p
@afneil For those asking when Boris Johnson's interview will take place, we're in ongoing discussions with his team but we haven't yet been able to fix a date
A man on @bbcquestiontime said he earned more than £80,000 a year but that did not put him in the top 5% of earners. @HMRCgovuk figures show £75,300 put you in the top 5% in 2016-17. If you adjust that by earnings growth it suggests you now need to be earning about £81,000.
This video highlights why I think learning about the distribution of income in the country should be an essential part of the school curriculum.
Absolutely bizarre. https://t.co/g5DSFtkk2j
