i mean yea, i'd mostly agree. i wish Palworld would be a bit more creative artistically and honestly it is one of the reasons i cant get into the game but i feel like while this design is inspired, i think they changed up the design enough unlike a few other pals that feel way more egregious

I feel conflicted about this because on one hand you got Pokémon fans swearing this is plagiarism and that Palworld clearly steals designs from Pokémon which I don’t agree with.

On the other hand you got people swearing that there is absolutely zero correlation or similarity between Pals and Pokémon which I also find a little ridiculous.

I think some Pals are extremely egregious with their inspirations but others (like this one) while I believe are CLEARLY inspired by Kyogre, don’t fit the outright copycat claims that Pokémon fans assign to them.

I mean, it’s like everyone forgot that before this game became the phenomenon it did, everyone called it “Pokémon with guns.” That wasn’t for no reason lol.

Idk, the whole Palworld conversation is exhausting. To me, Palworld has clearly defined itself as something so different to the Pokémon experience that even I find some of their designs to be extremely derivative, I can’t be asked to care.

@SKDrac i agree, this one is clearly inspired by Kyogre but imo they changed enough to make it it's own thing. i showed both to my girlfriend (who knows nothing about pokemon or palworld) and asked if they looked the same, she said no.

I think me playing on PC with keyboard and mouse is really what finally locked me in. I kept trying to play the game on a controller because I wanted a chill, relaxing experience but the game always felt sooo clunky. I think the combat is already not its’ strongest suit but I feel like I have way more control now and I’m finally able to be immersed. I finally connected with the world, characters and story because I physically feel more connected to the game now.
