When my husband married me, he was amazed at how well I handle the home

My ability to adapt, multitask, make projections for our home and what is needed to keep it not just intact but thriving

The first time I made Akra and pap for him he was just looking at me astonished because there was nothing to use and I grabbed ramekins for cupcakes and put my batter there

To put things in perspective we live in Canada

So these things are not as easy as back home

It takes a lot of adaptation

When we had our baby, nobody was there with me. Omo, I put my baby on my laps and gave him a bath African mother style

Man was just looking at me bewildered in the best way possible

I’m not trying to toot my hoot( ok maybe ever so slightly)

Here’s the thing, I’m the first daughter and first child of my parents

I was grilled

I was taught

I started cooking at like 9 years old.

My mum would sit down and watch while I did it and she would jump in where needed

She would send me to go and spend a few weeks with women who just had babies as a teenager so I could help them do some chores. That’s how I learnt how to take care of newborns

You know the drill by now

This is not a post to tell you why Adewale is a blessed man

I’m trying to tell you that effectiveness is a product of training

Nobody is born with it

Brick by brick you are built by consistent training

And this applies to us as believers in Christ

To become a solid and mature christian, you need to be trained.

You need to sit down under seasoned teachers of the word and learn

Do you see how Pastors quote scripture like it’s nothing? Do you see how they connect it and dissect it?

It did not descend from heaven on them, thy sit down, everyday for hours and read and learn and pray

Sometimes we are discouraged about our spiritual lives because it doesn’t seem like we are growing

Take out time to search for a deeper knowledge of the word

Attend conferences

Watch videos on YouTube not just the ones on relationships and marriage, learn about church history, learn about apologetics, take time to understand your faith

On days when you’re asked questions or when life shows up, you’ll be amazed at what will flow out of your spirit
