Kompany has never beaten Arteta in 3 tries.
Maresca has never beaten Arteta in 4 tries.
Diego Simeone has never beaten Mikel Arteta in 3 tries.
Marco Bielsa has never beaten Mikel Arteta in 5 tries.
Ange Postecoglou has never beaten Mikel Arteta in 5 tries.
He also has a winning record against Eddie Howe, Carlo Ancelotti, Antonio Conte, and Erik Ten Hag.
Even Klopp, who racked up wins against us when Arteta was still building the team, had only a 1 win advantage over Arteta by the time he left Liverpool (6 wins, 3 draws, 5 losses).
There's no current EPL manager with a winning record over Mikel Arteta.
Are you slow? Do you guys just like being dumb for online responses? What is wrong with you?
I don't understand people on Twitter. On a platform where you can have meaningful conversations with people from all over the world, you just decide to use it to say dumb shit with no logical backing whatsoever.
My take is simple.
Let artists/celebrities/public-figures be. Separate their acts from their politics. Like you and everyone else, they have the rights to make choices. Stop bullying them to take sides.
To each his own. Let them be.
I watched an interview on #PoliticsToday* on @channelstv, anchored by @seunokin, in which the @OfficialAPCNg National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru (@DrSRJ), called me a “skit maker” and “comedian.”
I am presenting here a photograph I took with Ajibola in 1998, when I led the Congress of Progressive Youths (COPY), and we were both in the trenches fighting against military dictatorship.
What eventually happened to COPY offered an early indication of what Ajibola has become today, but that is a story for another day.
His premise is that because Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialABAT was declared "winner" by @inecnigeria in the deeply flawed 2023 presidential election, those of us who contested against him should somehow be ashamed of losing.
Ajibola @DrSRJ came to the University of Lagos after he was expelled from the University of Ilorin in 1992 for student activism.
I received him alongside Kunle Adegoke, popularly known as “K-Rad,” who is now a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN). We provided them with an enabling environment to apply to re-enter the university, gain admission, and study Law at the University of Lagos @UnilagNigeria. Both eventually graduated with flying colours and went on to accomplish great things.
The struggle for justice, democracy, freedom and the preservation of human dignity is neither skit-making nor comedy.
Ajibola knows this because he was once part of that struggle and benefited from the solidarity of those who refused to surrender to military tyranny.
It is unfortunate that he has become so carried away by the fleeting privileges of his current political position that he now ridicules the very struggle that helped shape his own future.
But Ajibola should know better. Political appointments are temporary. Tinubu's regime will come and go, just like the military regimes we confronted in our youth.
The principles we fought for in 1994 remain as relevant today as they were then.
Our commitment to justice has endured for decades and will outlast his present political appointment.
The struggle for freedom is not comedy. What is truly comical is watching yesterday's beneficiaries of resistance become today's defenders of the very oppression they once fought against. #RevolutionNow
May I add that if you're not a very determined and strong-willed person, the requirements a person is expected to meet before one can sue a disco is very daunting.
I am almost certain that for every 10 matters that would have ended in court against them, 7 were left to God by those affected because of the procedures. Out of the remaining 3, maybe one enjoys actual trial. P.O kills the other 2.
I was digging through one time. I came across a judgement. A learned Silk sued a disco and the P.O that killed his suit was to the effect that he didn't approach Forum before approaching the court.
About 4 steps, with each coming with needless bottlenecks that sap your resources.
And this is another issue with Nigeria. An entity could have a DG on its website as the head and you address a letter to that DG. Ms Akande at the front desk would have a perfunctory glance at your letter and assert: "We cannot take this letter. Address it to Chairman. He is Chairman not DG." You change it to Chairman and return 2 weeks later to be told that he is no longer addressed as the Chairman, but the President.
Interestingly, matters of such nature interest me so much. It piques my curiosity and I want to know exactly how it will end.
The area manager of an entity once abused power in my estate. The estate said we should leave her to God, I said God has asked me to handle it. I wrote to her, demanding unreserved apology and undertaking not to attempt such in my estate again. She ignored my letter. I took it to the next authority. They transferred her from my area to another.
I wrote another letter and said: "No. Transfer doesn't solve it. She must apologise and undertake never to try such again, or else I will stress your system". The entity sent a 3-man delegate to my house on a Saturday morning. My letter promised hell first thing on Monday. They admitted that they didn't want to wait till Monday. They were polite. Their head of legal was steaming side glances at me. I knew why and they admitted it later. "You look too gentle for that letter".
After their apologies and good words, we shook hand and while they were leaving, I repeated: "The former area manager must write a letter of apology and undertake never to try such in this estate again". She did.
To survive in Nigeria, you must be a man or woman or steel. You must carry a scorpion-like tail and anyone who tramples on you or your right must get an offence-appropriate dosage.
In Abuja for instance, there's one of the platforms where the person meant to receive your complaint acts with reckless abandon and uses her discretion to determine which petition would be received and which would not be.
I am shocked. Incredibly shocked.
Man is literally providing justification for taking two human lives. Subhanallah.
Just look at the very flawed thought-process.
Talmabout mercy is only for the ignorant. Where did you get that from?
This is a deeply disturbing attempt to justify the taking of human lives in the name of Islam.
You have written several paragraphs explaining why the sanctity of the Haram must be protected, but have failed to establish why the appropriate punishment for the alleged offence should be death.
Nobody is disputing the sanctity of the mosque. Nobody is defending indecent behaviour in a place of worship. But how does the seriousness of an offence automatically justify the severity of its punishment?
You dismiss the claim that the individuals merely kissed because there is no substantive evidence, yet you conveniently construct an entire narrative of deliberate desecration, premeditated defiance and intentional mockery of the Haram. Where is your evidence for these assertions?
There is an authentic account of a Bedouin who urinated inside the Prophet Muhammad's (S.A.W.) mosque. When the companions attempted to stop him, the Prophet restrained them, allowed the man to finish, and subsequently corrected him with patience and compassion. The circumstances are not identical, but that gives us context around the narrative you are parroting about "serious offence".
Ta'zir is recognised in Islamic jurisprudence, but it is a discretionary punishment. It is not an unquestionable divine command to execute people. Muslim scholars have themselves disagreed over its limits.
And there is the the suggestion that people should surrender their moral judgement simply because they have entered another country. Since when did the existence of a law automatically make that law just?
Saudi Arabia is not Islam. Its courts are not Allah, and their judgements are not divine revelations. We can respect the sanctity of the Haram, condemn wrongdoing and still question whether a punishment is proportionate, just or consistent with the teachings of the Prophet (S.A.W.).
As Muslims, we should be particularly careful about defending the taking of human lives in Allah's name.
Is this how you choose to use your "knowledge"? Dawwwwgg.
42% of votes from the South West went to opposition candidates in the 2023 elections. 42%!!! To get into this narrative of berating a region where the opposition got 42% of the votes compared to candidate from that region is an own goal.
But that's just me. Do you.
My Dear Yoruba Brothers and Sisters please take some time to answer 👇🏽
Inside your heart, is Chief Bola Tinubu @officialABAT a true representation of the “Omoluabi” that you were taught as a child growing up? 😊
We are talking about the Head of Election Logistics in society that largely lacks trust.
Of course, HURIWA that first raised the issue aren’t rabble rousers. It’s a valid question in a democracy where a Senator openly mentioned influencing his wife judgment on the bench.
If we don’t want a critical society, let’s just say it openly. If this is not a democracy, let’s be clear about it. Stop bullying journalists.
What’s wrong in asking a man if his wife’s highly important role in election won’t interfere with his overt partisan stance? Obviously, it’s okay for the husband to defend the honour and professional ability of his spouse.
That should be the summary of the whole exchange.
If you are not well-informed and stacked with your independent analysis and knowledge, folks will call a monkey a dog right to your face.
I no go talk pass that one.
Godspeed to everyone ✌️✌️✌️
This is how to perform CPR if someone needs it around you.
Share this video. You might save a life doing so. And tag a friend who needs to learn this.
1. Make sure the person is safe
2. Call for help
3. Check for breathing
4. Place the heel of your hand in between the chest
5. Compress chest 30 times
6. Raise jaw and breathe into mouth
7. Repeat this process until you get the required help
A few controversial things I believe:
1) A grown man with a family has no business getting on a ladder to put up Christmas lights.
2) a larger vehicle is safer than a smaller vehicle. Put your family in an SUV. Period. Crash ratings are a scam.
3) Pitbulls are a public nuisance.
4) politics is a total waste of time. Putting energy towards it is inversely correlated to happiness.
5) earning money is hard. $100k a year is a lot of money. Twitter acts like it’s easy but it isn’t.
6) sports betting is a disaster for society. Quietly destroying a lot of men’s lives.
7) waiting till 35 to think about kids is a huge mistake. These folks are all going to regret not having more, earlier.
8) SEC and Big10 schools are the new Ivy League. Wealthy families want to send their kids there, not Harvard or Stanford.
9) religion is making a comeback. And the people who get serious about it end up with better lives.
10) marrying a doctor or a lawyer is high status, but low enjoyment. These folks live stressful lives with very little flexibility.
11) vaping and weed are better for your body than alcohol, but worse for your career and life. They remove ambition and energy and make you less social.
12) giving our kids 75 vaccines is going to go down in history as a net-negative on society.
13) technology won’t actually advance a lot from here. Our physical worlds will largely be the same 20 years from now.
14) driverless cars are 20 years away. Waymo won’t make it out of the major cities with 25 mile an hour speed limits.
15) Virtual reality won’t become a thing. Nobody has any use for it.
16) 99% of people have no use for AI and it has reached 90% of its potential utility. Massive waste of electricity on the whole.
17) Web3 is a joke. Crypto is worthless. Bitcoin is a fad and is 100% speculative. Massive waste of electricity. Solves a problem that doesn’t exist.
18) electric vehicles will not become mainstream. They do more harm to the environment than good. Creating them and disposing of them is an environmental catastrophe.
19) Starlink is a miracle and ads 10x more value to society than the previous 5 things on this list combined. Elon needs a Nobel prize.
20) the fed has done a great job over the last 3 years with rates.
21) nuclear power is the only way forward. Solar and wind are not sustainable and are a total waste of money. Oil and gas is the only viable solution today and America should invest heavily in more production.
22) Silicon Valley influencers and Tech titans are out of touch with the true needs of Americans. They could benefit by spending some time in a Walmart. Most people are trying to figure out how to put food on the table. They don’t need another app for their meta glasses.
What’s something you believe that isn’t a common belief? Which one am I wrong about?
