@Pardoneras@DE_StationChief@hilosfemi2@ozempicjunkie Well hold on, that’s the logic of Islamophobia that I was critiquing. ISRAEL is dropping the bombs, not Jews, which is a meaningful distinction. Israel is just allowed to do it whereas similar brutality from Muslim countries is condemned.
@DE_StationChief Individual muslims being mean isn’t them “oppressing” other people. If I were to murder a random guy because I didn’t like his top hat, that’s not me oppressing the guy with the top hat that’s just me being an asshole
@hilosfemi2 Muslims are oppressed, Christians and Jews aren’t. You are morally required to treat the issue cautiously to avoid falling into bigotry or accidentally reinforcing structures of hate. You can’t just be infinitely critical without consequences
@DE_StationChief@hilosfemi2@ozempicjunkie Jews are MARGINALIZED but not oppressed, there are no systemic structures in the west that make it harder to be Jewish. Nazi skinheads trying to kill you for existing isn’t systemic oppression (at least not anymore now that Nazi Germany fell)
@plainwhiteclaw Inside was connected to its time period to a fault, so now that the COVID years are over there’s nothing interesting or relevant about it for people to go back to.
@TheSogster Didn’t Kane Parsons turn the Backrooms concept into a narrative / character driven film? That’s far removed from a list of spooky references and thematic key jangling so Zoomers hated it.
