I would like to commend Anthony, James, and Angel (who is actually a former student of mine) - they provided excellent customer service and did everything in their power to rectify the situation. Management has been horrific to deal with.
I sent this as a message to @Lowes, but no one has responded. I still can’t get ahold of anyone at the store, and it has been 55 days since I made my initial purchase.
I would like for Lowe’s to find my dishwasher and let me know when it will be delivered. I would also like for them to cover installation costs. I want to continue shopping at Lowe’s, but this has about done me in.
I purchased the dishwasher online to save time. I have now spent over 8 hours trying to purchase a dishwasher and still have nothing to show for it, other than a $579 charge on my credit card.
I have now been waiting for a dishwasher for nearly two months. I’ve had a plumber on stand by for two delivery dates. I am beyond disappointed in the customer service - my blood pressure rises just thinking about it.
I called Lowe’s yesterday and asked to speak to Doug, the general manager. He was not there, so I asked to speak to Shawn. I was placed on hold for ten minutes and then the phone rang unanswered for several minutes.
On 15 August 2019, I received a phone call that our dishwasher had not arrived. It had been built and was in transit to Lowe’s distribution center. They said it should arrive at the store within a week. That was two weeks ago. I have not heard from the store at all.
At 7:30, waiting 1.5 hours that night (and 3 hours waiting in the store total) I finally met a manager. Eventually, Shawn agreed to match a discount on a similar dishwasher. We determined the next day this dishwasher did exist, and I agreed to a delivery date of 16 August 2019.
At 7:21, after waiting for 81 minutes, Angel called Shawn and asked him to speak to me. Shawn asked Angel if he had offered me 10% off, and Angel informed him that I wantedto speak to him. Shawn said he was still doing research and would be out when he finished.
At this point, Angel called Shawn to see if he could get me another brand at the same price. Shawn said he was “doing research” and suggested Angel offer me 10% off any dishwasher. I told Angel this was unacceptable and asked to speak to Shawn.
James explained the situation. Angel said he could get it taken care of. Shawn never appeared in appliances.
Angel created the order, but I asked him to please call and make sure that dishwasher existed. Angel called GE and found out that model was not in production, either.
At 6:50, James returned. He told us Shawn was on his way back. He helped a few other people who did not require a manager override. Then, at 6:55, he told me he saw Shawn coming our way. At the same time, Angel, who works in appliances but had been at lunch, returned.
James went to customer service to find the manager. At 6:40, no one had returned. Not wanting to lose my place in line, I called the store and asked if anyone would be returning to appliances to help us. I was informed that the manager was busy, but she would let him know.
Around 6:20, a customer went to find an associate. They returned with James. James was extremely pleasant and put in the order for the new dishwasher. However, he needed an override, which meant, you guessed it, we needed a manager.
Upon arriving in appliances, an associate told me that someone would be with me soon. He disappeared after helping his current customer. At this point, there were five other customers waiting with no one to be found.
On Tuesday, 30 July, I arrived at Lowe’s at 6:00 with my five-year-old son in tow. I was sure this would be a quick visit; I simply needed to confirm that I wanted to purchase the dishwasher Anthony suggested.
Anthony did call the next day and left a message. I spent the next eight days trying to get ahold of someone at Lowe’s. I was only able to get through once, and I left a message.
O
I waited in appliances for Shawn, the manager on duty, until the store closed at 9:00. He never came. They started turning off lights, and I had to be let out of the store. Anthony promised to call the next day.
@Lowes sold me a dishwasher that didn’t exist and then had my husband wait twelve hours for it to arrive! Jo took me back to appliances where Anthony helped me. However, he could not get me the next model up without manager approval.
I arrived at the store and was told the manager was busy. The head cashier, Jo, helped me and explained that my dishwasher had actually never been made. Not only was it not going to be delivered, but it had never even been created!
Over the next three hours, I was hung up on, transferred, told they couldn’t contact delivery drivers, and placed on hold for a manager who never picked up the phone. At 7:30, I decided I needed to just go to the store, as it is much more difficult to ignore me in person.
My husband stayed home for the entire twelve hour period, not wanting to miss the delivery. At 4:30 we still hadn’t heard from anyone, so I started calling the store (S. Lexington at 4055 Nichols Park Drive).
