Akainu vs Blackbeard pirates

It’s stated that Van Auger prevents the crew from being in danger/crisis when he senses a formidable enemy. This is in reference to when Akainu went to capture them post Marineford war and the BB pirates ran away.

Kaido has finally been defeated after consecutively fighting 8 Scabbards + Izo, the 5 strongest Supernova, Yamato and 3 rounds against Luffy in a single night.

He didn’t start taking serious damage until he was scarred by Zoro’s Ashura.

To elaborate on “serious damage” the Scabbards’ strongest joint Paradise Totsuka attack was deemed “too shallow” (993) and Luffy called his G4 attacks before Conquerors coating “too shallow”. The other Supernova attacks on the roof are at best comparable to Gear 4’s attack power.

@xiaoxias All I meant by serious damage was that the attack wasn’t shallow. The same goes for Luffy’s conquerors attacks in 1010. If you think Ashura was a shallow attack you are wrong and it’s not a debate. I’m not saying Ashura is as strong as Gear 5.

@xiaoxias What you quoted is Kaido acknowledging Zoro’s efforts. You also missed Kaido saying that the wound will remain. Leaving a scar isn’t shallow damage. Kaido called the Scabbards’ attack too shallow for not being able to reopen the old scar but Zoro created a new scar entirely.

Zoro’s Ashura left a scar so it wasn’t “too shallow” like the rest. The same goes for all the Conquerors coated attacks Kaido is hit by from that point forward as we see base Luffy surpass his previous Gear 4’s AP after awakening Conquerors coating (1010).
