The "PING" on your cardiac monitor can be high, especially in your hypothermic or low cardiac output patients. SpO2 lag is real, and yes, it makes a difference where you place your SpO2 probe.

Most pre-hospital providers (or all for that matter) make the airway difficult for themselves as opposed to truly encountering a “difficult airway.” Poor preparation, poor optimization, poor positioning... not using a paralytic... 🤦‍♂️
