Japan hit a record 42.7M foreign visitors in 2025. It’s awesome.

On social media, I sometimes see people sharing super tight itineraries, like trying to hit all the top 10 TripAdvisor spots in Kyoto in just 2 days. It's basically snap a pic, rush to the next one, check it off the list, and say 'I've been to Kyoto'. That sounds exhausting and you miss out on real local life.

It's great to have a few must-see spots planned. But I also recommend leaving room to just wander. Follow your gut, pop into a random supermarket, try a small local cafe (not the big chains), a bar or a diner, or even get lost on purpose.

Those unplanned moments usually make the trip way more fun and memorable, in my opinion.And of course, always follow common sense and respect local manners😄

Friends! A New-Piece-Of-Furniture has appeared in the Kitchen. Mum says it’s her joint Birthday and Christmas Present from the January Sales. She says she loves it and is finding spaces for all our things on it. I want to claim one of the spaces for myself so I’m going to sit here for the foreseeable. I’ve told the others to stay back for now… until we are sure it’s safe. I’ll update you!
