Gai Jatra, the festival of cows, (Gai means cow and Jatra means festival in Nepali: ΰ€ΰ€Ύΰ€ ΰ€ΰ€Ύΰ€€ΰ₯ΰ€°ΰ€Ύ) is celebrated in Nepal, mainly in Kathmandu valley by the Newar and Tharu community. The festival commemorates the death of people during the year.
ma-Dablam (6,812 m) means "mother's necklace" in Nepali, because the ridges extending from both sides of the main peak resemble a mother's outstretched arms protecting her child.
