Personal Needs Allowance (PNA) is all residents have for OTC meds, hygiene items, bedding/towels, all clothing, including winter coats/boots, etc. And maybe a coffee with a friend.
ODSP recipients who reside in group homes never get an increase to their personal needs allowance, but the agencies who run them do get a (much needed) increase.
Residents give $25-$100 of PNA to agencies for…1/2

…for transportation or other fees. That can leave as little as $49 per month that the resident has any control over.
Why does PNA not increase when everything else does?

Thank you @KarynRN4 and Angie for sharing with us all.
We left the hospital late last night after no acute cardiac findings. There was no interest from the medical team in getting answers for her increasing episodes of light flashes/headache/dizzy. She has so many yesterday & is suffering intensely with them. 💔My heart breaks. 1/9
