It’s National Forest Week! Celebrate our rich forest heritage from September 20-26.
This year’s theme is Forest Pathways: Innovation and Sustainability, celebrates the innovative approaches helping us sustainably manage and protect our forests for generations to come.
Thanks to favourable weather conditions and the ongoing efforts of our personnel, all 3 fires in the Rinker Lake Complex are now under control.
As of this update, there are 31 active fires in the Northwest Region. Of those, 10 are under control and 21 are being observed.
Although conditions have changed considerably since the height of fire season, the potential for fire remains. As parts of the province transition into fall conditions, vegetation is beginning to die off and dry out, increasing the potential for human-caused fires.
