This year, I chose to pursue a Master in Law degree concurrently with my Master in Business Administration degree-after earning my medical degree.

It was only a few weeks ago I learnt in Church that Paul was not encouraging us to replace the wine as a means to debauchery.

(Yes. Till today I'm still unlearning many things I took for granted from my training)

He was exhorting us to flee wine which leads to silly behaviours but be filled with the spirit instead.

I was taught that he meant we should use the Spirit to have silly behaviours instead.

Paul was not endorsing debauchery. Paul was not endorsing drunkenness and disorderly behaviour.

Paul was wholly rejecting it and encouraging being filled with the spirit.

And when in doubt of what christians who are filled with the spirit behave, look at the book of Acts.

There is not one example of people being filled with the spirit and acting in a disorderly manner.

I could go through it for you but it'll be too long. Check yourself.

Every time they were filled, they spoke body, cast out demons, prophesied, worshipped and praised God.

There's no single example of them acting insane or debauched.

So brethren,

Ephesians 5:18-19
Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord,

Paul was not asking you to be debauched by the Spirit as an alternative.

Paul was saying to fill your consciousness with God's presence by participating in the sacraments like singing spiritual songs.

Debauchery is an act of the flesh. Disorderly behaviour is an act of the flesh.

Galatians 5:19-21
The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and DEBAUCHERY; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; DRUNKENNESS, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Acting drunk and disorderly is not being filled with the spirit, Fam.

For he had warned somewhere else against all forms of disorderliness.

1 Corinthians 14:33
For God is not a God of disorder but of peace —as in all the congregations of the Lord’s people.

And again he said...

1 Corinthians 14:40
But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.

Worship, Praise and all doxology in the local church ought to be orderly.

Hope this helps someone who is the Lord's sheep. His sheep know his voice.

She had an accident over a year ago, she lost her elder bother but she survived.
She recovered with a shattered left foot.

She underwent several surgeries but she couldn’t walk for about a year, she had to stop school too.
