@TinaYazdani I have no issues with the Premier spending $200K on private flights, if it’s to fight for Ontario. What I have a problem with is doing this WHILE cutting education and health care. If he was using it to fly around and talk to teachers and nurses to ask what they need, great!
@tylerwatt E-learning is a great tool. It has a place in a comprehensive learning structure. But to force it for entire courses? Still having it in place after we saw what happened during COVID proves this was never about anything other than lining someone’s pockets.
@lori_MJK23@FixingEducation If teachers were just dictating learning content. But teachers are so much more. Behavioural specialists, emotional support, medics, nutritional support, coaches, and we’re not even talking about any of the evaluation that they have to do for the work itself, much of it hands on.
@teachthemx3@pbstjohn And then they come into the working world and expect those same exceptions to be made by their employer. I’ve had to terminate employees because of this sense of entitlement. It’s a real challenge. EQAO, grad rates, it’s all setup to push admin to pass kids and fudge numbers.
@greggsymonds@ctvottawa Three main factors:
1 - average temps are higher, and there’s more extreme heat days in June
2 - lack of repairs and upkeep mean failing ventilation, windows that won’t open, etc.
3 - increased class sizes means more bodies which = more heat. More electronics add heat too.
@lindahaslett@WendyGoodes@PaulCalandra They think they can get away with this gaslighting because the Ontario Public keeps voting them in. Zero consequences for the corruption.
@CP24 It’s just plain laziness. I am all for cutting costs in areas where wasteful spending exists. But this isn’t cost cutting. It’s gutting the already diminished education system. Do the actual work, @PaulCalandra, to find the waste. Stop hurting kids.
@tchrscurriculum It’s personal touches like this that AI could never replace. When inclusivity is a mindset and not just performative, small details like this seem so obvious.
@mynamesnotgordy Maybe the tunnel he’ll never build can serve a double purpose. Cars and planes next to each other. It’s no less ridiculous than some of his other plans….
