Ontario Schools need to return to normal. The old normal.
No masks. No weird schedules. Full sports and clubs.
Kids being kids again. They have suffered enough
The real blockades are the ones stopping healthy Canadians from working, travelling, going to university. Blocking youth from sport and their parents from watching them. Muting kids in school. Breaking families apart. And they don't just last days.
So failed Lib leader @StevenDelDuca is running for Mayor of Vaughan. He has zero experience on the municipal level and already lost his seat provincially. Bugs me that he thinks he can just walk in and win. Remember this is a guy who wanted to mandate shots for school children.
The University of Toronto vaccine booster mandate is a hate policy designed to weed out the uncompliant. The Ontario government should immediately suspend public funding to this "institution". I don't want a cent of my taxes going anywhere near this place.
For those still making their choice and have this option available, Queen's University in Kingston is going mask optional June 1st. About time someone did this.
I'll start with @campgreenacres
"If your child is eligible to be vaccinated but you choose to not have them vaccinated and/or do not provide proof of vaccination at least 2 weeks (14 day) prior to the start of his/her camp session, your child(ren)βs enrolment will be cancelled."
Maybe we should start a list of all the camps that require passports and mandatory mask wearing, so there is a database for future reviews on discrimination.
Why are so many Ontario camps requiring vax passports for participants, volunteers and staff? Did I miss something where summer outdoor activities are suddenly dangerous? Camps that enforce this and pride themselves on being inclusive should be ashamed.
@OCACamps
Positive reports from my kids at school today. Mask free life spread rapidly from the morning to the afternoon and lots of smiles were spotted. Even some teachers were breathing in the fresh air. Both kids were surprised to see more unmasked than expected.
I won't wear a mask because I want to show I feel safe without one. Because masks have proven to be ineffective and I believe in personal choice.
I don't need to wear a mask to demonstrate I care about others or show I'm a good person. I won't be guilted into thinking otherwise.
Ontario provides over 5 billion dollars a year to fund local universities. March 1, they were told to drop vax mandates, they haven't. Now they refuse to allow choice on masks. And not one has said when they will. Defund Ontario Universities until they are open to every student.
@OntarioReopen@Carleton_U This needs to end. What does @fordnation expect the 20% of unvaxxed teens to do for post secondary education, for a career? He needs to make it illegal for these institutions to ask for vax status.
For example in Ottawa, @Carleton_U is doing the opposite of what is recommended by public health.
"Following public health guidelines, Carleton requires proof of COVID-19 vaccination for anyone attending on-campus activities, including campus tours."
Finally. But not nearly enough.
Ontario Universities are still holding onto these outdated vaccine mandates and mask policies. While the province (and most of North America) moves on, you can't even take an in person campus tour without 2 shots in Ontario.
The scared will always resort back to keeping the status quo. Because these restrictions ARE their identity. But most of us want our lives back. I'm sick of stickers telling me where to stand, billboards telling me what to do, masks hiding how people feel. I want it all gone.
