THE HYPOCRISY OF A WICKED SYSTEM AND PEOPLE: WHEN NIGERIAN LEADERS AND NIGERIANS DEFEND FAILURE AND CONDEMN HELP- PART 1

All of the commentary we are hearing today from the government, the presidency, government officials, statesmen, some former and past presidents, governors, present governors, APC supporters, beneficiaries of this administration, ex-ministers, lawyers, senators, house of representatives members, past and present governors, some clergymen, senior advocates, media houses, and their paid defenders is nothing but one-sided hypocrisy and wickedness.

All these people speaking now have been in this country while killings, kidnappings, and the destruction of villages have been happening. Yet they kept quiet because it did not affect them or their children. If you have ever lived in the North or any part of Nigeria and have been kidnapped, paying millions to regain your freedom, you would never defend any corrupt government or official.

Let’s put it straight: for years, Nigerians have been complaining about banditry, terrorism, killings, and kidnappings. The citizens have cried out for help. The poor have wailed. Parents have buried their children. Yet, the government has remained quiet, complicit, and indifferent.

Both the past and present governments have received billions in international support money, military equipment, intelligence, and training from nations genuinely concerned about Nigeria’s insecurity. Yet, nothing changes. Instead, it appears that the only thing that works efficiently in this country is the collection of foreign aid and NGO donations.

Meanwhile, citizens Muslims and Christians alike are being slaughtered across the nation. Villages are burned, families are destroyed, and children are kidnapped daily, while the Nigerian government does nothing drastic. The silence is deafening, and the inaction is deliberate.

Now, let it be clear: America has not said they are coming to attack Nigeria or strike Nigerians. America never said they are coming to fight the Nigerian government. They are simply saying:

“We have been helping you. We have sent you money, weapons, and training to fight terrorism. Yet your people keep dying. You are not making any headway. If you will not act, we must step in to help end the killing of innocent citizens and save the world from the spread of terrorism.���

That is the message simple, direct, and humanitarian.

But what do we see? Suddenly, every paid newspaper, corrupt media house, and bought commentator in Nigeria begins to rise not to defend the people being killed, but to defend the system responsible for their death.

Some are even protesting against America in Lagos, shouting false accusations. Every government spokesperson and political beneficiary now pretends that the issue is “foreign interference,” not the blood of Nigerians crying from the ground.

Where were these voices when bandits were burning villages? Where were they when terrorists were kidnapping schoolchildren and collecting ransom? Where were they when farmers were being slaughtered in their fields? Where were they when entire communities were displaced and forced to live as refugees in their own country?

Even the Chinese, who have been mining illegally in Zamfara and across the North while insecurity rages, have said nothing because they are benefiting from the chaos.

A serving senator in the Nigerian Senate has openly spoken about the illegal mining of the Chinese in the North, yet no action was taken. Instead, those benefiting from these crimes continue to enjoy political protection and economic reward.

Now, after years of silence and suffering, the hypocrisy is being exposed. Suddenly, everyone has turned America into the enemy. But when America was giving us money, providing fighter jets, and offering military support, they were our partners and good friends.
