Why are your eyes yellow?
I used to dread this question a lot because that’s the first thing people noticed about me before they even asked my name
Answering this meant opening myself up to be bullied by insensitive people when they felt like it, so I always evaded the question
Flow without fear campaign for celebrating World Menstrual Hygiene day was a success!
Thank you to everyone who contributed in one way or the other to make this event beautiful
Sometimes, a brewing crisis may never fully start when you give your body and mind the stillness they need.
We often talk about medications, hydration, and avoiding triggers, but sleep deserves a place in that conversation too.
Sleep is where healing begins.
These past two days that were public holidays were healing days for me.
You might ask, “What did you heal, and how did you heal?”
I slept. Without guilt!
For someone living with sickle cell disease, sleep is not just sleep. It is reset time, repair time, and regulation time.

Why are we focusing on women and girls living with sickle cell disease?
Because menstruation is more than a monthly cycle for many warriors.
It can mean severe pain, fatigue, worsening anemia, missed school or work, emotional stress, and even crisis episodes.
Periods are monthly. Pain crises shouldn’t be.
On Wednesday, we started conversations
We are on a mission to help women and girls living with sickle cell disease navigate menstruation better. ❤️🩸
One conversation, one outreach, one life at a time.
On Wednesday while we were on the streets fundraising for our "flow without Fear"
Met Rejoice a young Sickle cell warrior
She had lots of questions
"Why's my eye yellow?"
"Why do I have a stomach ache when I am sick?"
The Grace initiative is dedicated to warriors
Female Sickle Cell warriors Dread their period.

We in the streets of Abakiliki fundraising trying to make this dream a reality
Menstruation should not take women and girls who live with sickle cell disease to the hospital every month
Our passion is to see that anyone living with sickle cell disease lives so well despite it.
For the month of May, our focus is on women and girls.
