#UPDATE ON YOUNG MAN FORCED INTO A CAR TRUNK BY POLICE OFFICERS FROM IMO STATE POLICE COMMAND.

The young man seen forced into the trunk of a vehicle by police officers attached to the Ihiagwa Divisional Headquarters has been identified as Princewill Chimaobi.

I just spoke with him while he was in police custody, and he recounted what happened.

According to Princewill, he left his house yesterday to charge his phone when police officers stormed the location and arrested him alongside several others. He said he questioned the officers about the reason for his arrest and resisted being taken away because he believed he had done nothing wrong.

He alleged that the officers then dragged him and forced him into the trunk of a tinted Toyota Camry.

Speaking to me in the presence of the police officers, Princewill maintained that nothing incriminating was found on him and that he had never been arrested before. He said this was the first time he had ever experienced being arrested by the police. The police told me they found nothing on him.

Following the announcement that Tony Elumelu will conclude his tenure as Chairman of United Bank for Africa (UBA) next month after reaching the Central Bank of Nigeria’s 12-year tenure limit, the bank has named Emmanuel N. Nnorom as his successor.

Emmanuel Nnorom is a seasoned banker and business executive from Isuikwuato, Abia State. He has previously held several senior leadership positions at UBA, including Group Chief Operating Officer, Executive Director for Finance, Executive Director for Risk Management, and Managing Director/CEO of UBA Africa.

He currently serves as Group CEO of Heirs Holdings and is set to assume the role of Chairman of UBA upon the completion of Elumelu’s tenure.
