Expired meat, fish & milk found in Bengaluru’s top luxury hotels.

30 teams inspected 26 three-star & five-star hotels across BBMP limits today. 35 food samples collected for lab testing.

Hotels where food was seized:

• The Lalit Ashok – 76 kg meat, 200 kg vegetables & 32 litres expired milk

• Shangri-La Bengaluru – 15 kg meat

• Four Seasons Bengaluru – 19 kg meat

• Vivanta Whitefield – 3 kg expired bakery products

• Taj Yeshwantpur – 72 kg meat/fish

• Radisson Blu (The Atria) – 105 kg expired food (50 kg chicken, 25 kg meat, 23 kg fish, 7 kg vegetables)

Violations included expired food, fungal growth, unhygienic kitchens, misbranding, FSSAI labelling violations and improper veg/non-veg storage. Notices issued; further action to follow after lab reports. #Bengaluru #FoodSafety

🙏🏼Experiences with Maha Periyava: Emergency treatment 🙏🏼

Sri Maha Periyava was giving darshan to devotees in the Kumbakonam Matham after completing His ChandraMouleeswara pooja.

A farmer who was connected to the SriMatham came rushing to Him with anxiety and fell at His legs and wailed, "Save my son, Kadavule (God)!"

Periyava asked one of His assistants to find out what happened.

The farmer had only one son. When he was taking food, a snake had climbed up his body and slithered away. The boy had fainted with fear. It was not possible to ascertain whether the snake had bitten the boy. Usually snake bites were countered with the chanting of certain mantras by people who were skilled at it but there was no one nearby who knew the mantras.

"Only Saamy should save him..."

Periyava gave him vibuti prasadam. "Smear it on the boy's forehead."

"Saringa" (a reverential yes).

"You have arappu podi (herbal soap powder) at home?"

"It is there", he nodded his head.

"Open the boy’s mouth, drop a little arappu podi into it. If the boy spits it saying it is bitter, it means the snake has not bitten him. If he takes it saying it is sweet, then the snake has bitten him, and you should treat him accordingly. Go and give him arappu."

The farmer ran to his house and did as Periyava told him. As soon as the arappu podi was dropped into his mouth, the boy spat it saying "It's bitter, bitter!" The farmer was relieved that the snake did not bite him.

When the situation came back to normal, the farmer couple came with the boy for darshan. Periyava said to the woman, "Light a sesame oil lamp daily in your home."
