Asst. Prof. of History @ U of Wyoming. Tweets about colonial Americas, early modern botany, comparative empires and more. Always in search of the perfect dress.
@JasonJacobyLee@tomzoellner@ThePublicSquare Thank you for writing this! My daughter is afraid of dogs and the owner shouting "Oh, but she's friendly!" as the dog jumps up on her doesn't fix the issue.
@RoperLou @deborah_hamer @csschmitt1@jjponcevazquez @spacey_lords @DavidVeevers1 Well it started out as an article but morphed into random notes on sources. A lot of it will be in the book, though!
@RoperLou @deborah_hamer @csschmitt1@jjponcevazquez @spacey_lords @DavidVeevers1 I have a document on my computer titled "Guiana at the Center of the World" so I will definitely check out this book!
Dear all, the moment you have awaited is here: the CFP for @SECOLAS_org conference 2025 in Mexico City. Calling all Latin Americanists, and I am especially looking at you colonialists! Please submit a proposal! https://t.co/G7MtbrntWK
@Beery_maps See the disclaimers above, but I would guess at least 70k. Laramie is a lot cheaper than CO, and with no state income tax. You could certainly email my chair with more questions, though, as he is also the head of the search committee.
Another job! We are also hiring a historian of Wyoming and the US West. It's at the assistant level, but a named professorship with a *2:1* teaching load. Again, if you have any questions, please get in touch.

@HerbertHistory I am honestly not sure, as this job is unusual, but I would guess at least 70k? Laramie is fairly affordable and Wyoming doesn't have state income tax.
Also, a bonus that might interest Latin Americanists: Laramie offers dual-language immersion (Spanish/English) in a K-5 public elementary school. My kid goes there, so I'm happy to answer questions about that, too.
I am really thrilled to share that we are running a search for an Asst. Prof. of Latin American History! Check out the ad, please share, and let me know if you have any questions about the job, our department, university, or anything else.
