@coffeemaxxxing You’re dismissing the issue. Vegans are anti-animal cruelty & exploitation. I think more people should care about what they’re eating, more people should question the industries in which they’ve been propagandised into supporting, etc. ignorance doesn’t solve factory farming
@coffeemaxxxing Slaughterhouses, which have awful effects on communities even outside of water/air pollution are disproportionately placed in black, indigenous, latino, and low-income communities. - not to mention the indigenous land that is stolen for agricultural space for animals.
@coffeemaxxxing I don’t really think it’s about comparing social injustices to see ‘who’s worse’, I believe the meat industry itself is racist. Even the people defending the meat industries practices are doing so by mythologising indigenous communities with the ‘Ecological Indian’ trope
@piercespears The most satiating food on earth is vegan. (potato)
the fact you didn’t feel satiated by your meals likely just means you weren’t eating enough.
The example you gave also misconstrues vegan diets to be more expensive. Most vegans aren’t eating false meats everyday.
@dc4era I mean we put pressure on celebrities to talk about world issues and raise awareness, there are thousands of low-income vegan advocates it’s just they don’t have the reach that a celebrity of her size would have. Veganism is good! It’s good to be vegan! Lol
@lvrselphie I mean I think it’s a pretty valid question to ask if the topic you’re tweeting about is reasons not to be vegan. I wasn’t even asking out of malice lol
@LustBIvd If the world adopted a vegan diet we would be able to feed 3-4 billion more people. Also, historically vegan foods like rice and bean have been cheaper. Meat is a luxury!
Not to mention how the country with the most vegans is India. Veganism is good! It’s good to be vegan
@lvrselphie@everhoax Multiple health studies have shown positive health benefits to a vegan diet. The number of people with severe allergies or severe gastrointestinal disorders that wouldn’t be able to go vegan is very small. Why aren’t you vegan? Genuinely asking
@piercespears Veganism is a third cheaper in the west. If you’re an ex-vegan but the deepest you got dietary wise was eating impossible meat and not vegan staples like tofu, beans, tempeh and seitan then I doubt you got that far lol https://t.co/p6885ZEDnZ
@piercespears Nothing about factory farming is natural or follows ‘the circle of life’. Even if it were so, something being ‘natural’ does not make it good. This is naturalistic fallacy.
